The West Bank-based Palestinian Authority has told Israel that it will stop paying for electricity supplied to the Gaza Strip, Israeli officials say.
There was no confirmation from the PA. But President Mahmoud Abbas has threatened "unprecedented steps" to end the political division with the rival Hamas movement, which dominates Gaza.
Hamas called Thursday's move "a grave escalation and an act of madness".

It appears that the PA, which is not friendly with Hamas, is trying to get an problem to occur between Hamas and Israel.
Well, Muhammad didn’t have electricity 1400 years ago...So muzzies shouldn’t want to have anything to do with it now.
Hamas already has problems with Israel... this is a power play by Abbas... he sees it as a win-win, squeeze Hamas and blame it on the Jews. He is trying to extract something from Hamas (who rule Gaza)... power in some form or another, I’m just not familiar enough with politics there to know what his endgame is (other than the destruction of Israel, of course).
It is probably a blasphemous throat slitting offence for Muslims to use artificial lighting after Allah has commanded the sun to set behind the sand dunes. But I’m not an Islamic scholar, so not sure.
I seem to recall from back in the rocketing incident that Gaza has an electric plant, but there’s reliability and capability issues. Fuel might also be an issue.

Hamas ran out of money to pay for fuel, following PA taxing that fuel... the plant shut down recently when it ran out of fuel reserves... problems with transmission lines from Egypt cut off that powe... when Israel cuts power and they begin to run out of fuel in Gaza for backup generators, pressure will build on Israel to turn the lights on (using hospitals and schools without power to make Israel look like the bad guys). No sympathy here... not when they vote Hamas into power again and again.

So the government of Palestine is torturing all their own people by disabling all electricity to cause a fight between Hamas, the Palestinian Authority and bring Israel into it on purpose to exacerbate the situation. It looks like this is just a propaganda move, since Israel never collects any money from the P.A. or Hamas.
Some lefties are going to go all bonkers about this somewhere even though they didn’t read the article(s) or care to study up on it.

Everything they do is propaganda.
Abbas is also trying to protect his own hide , Hamas has threatened to take over his turf . He knows he is a dead man if they do , he will suffer the same type death as all other deposed leaders in Islamic areas .
