The administration of US President Donald Trump is considering a range of military actions against North Korea, says Texas Senator Ted Cruz.
Cruz made the remarks on Wednesday night, after attending a "long and detailed" private meeting at the White House, where all 100 members of the Senate were invited to discuss tensions with North Korea.
"The military is obviously planning for a number of options, as they should - minimal military action to more significant action," said Cruz, who ran a failed presidential campaign against Trump last year.

I love how all these senators start running their mouths about a “private meeting”. Coons was yapping too. How about “No Comment” Ted.
If it were not for the Church Committee that prevented the US from acting in its best interest in a very messy world, North Korea would not be a problem. Unfortunately the CIA today is more concerned about domestic politics and is woefully incapable of doing what is necessary in North Korea and Iran. That is the true legacy of Obama and the Democratic party.
SILENCE IS GOLDEN, TED.
Alas Ted...you lost. Cuz you think you're smarter than everyone else.
Keep putting psychological pressure on the heads of the NK military and they’ll kill Kim themselves and hand the country over to China.
I’m almost betting that this was a “feeling” meeting for Trump....feeling folks out. And I’d guess there’s some background as to why he called the meet in this form.
Fact; he is smarty than most people.
It’s good to remind Kim Jong Unstable and his sponsors that this is on the table. It might make them think twice.
I did kind of like Felito’s plan to take El Chapos captured money and build the wall with it.
Ted is real smart IN LEGAL MATTERS but neither creative or "wordly" for want of a better term. He's simply not well rounded.
“Its good to remind Kim Jong Unstable and his sponsors that this is on the table. It might make them think twice.”
I do not have a problem with what Ted said. He did not go into details. Anyways good to keep Kim Jong off balance.
Based on the comment above, I wouldn’t say Cruz let the cat out of the bag. It was closer to a non-statement statement.
Kim Jun Dung desperate letter:
NORTH Korea has appealed to Southeast Asian countries for support in its row with the United States to prevent what it warned could be a nuclear holocaust.
In a letter to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations secretary-general, North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho warned the situation on the Korean Peninsula was reaching the brink of war because of Washingtons actions.
letter appeared to be a highly unusual move.
