That only works if he dies within a month of the election. Then the widow gets elected in a walk even when the dead guy was way behind. Feelings, ya know. She needs this to feel better!
But three years later and after an entire campaign season of Hillary shrieking at people when she can be bothered to get out of bed, that impulse will be fully dissipated.
