Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on Monday that New York City would offer free, full-day preschool to all 3-year-olds within four years, saying that he was building on the success of the city’s prekindergarten program for 4-year-olds and that it was time to go further.

Three year olds do not need preschool.
They need socialization. Playing and being around other children their age.
Pre School learning is measured as better than non-preschool for something like the first year. After that, it has NO bearing on the success of a child in school.
Headstart and this stuff just smells of how the German’s raised kids in the 1930s. And what a happy bunch they are.
I’m glad to see that NYC has a budget surplus that can pay for this free day care.
