Among the other guests whom I recognized were Laura Ingraham and two of her colleagues from Lifezette, the Weekly Standards Christopher Caldwell and Lee Smith, Townhalls Katie Pavlich, the New Criterions Roger Kimball and talk radio hosts Mike Gallagher, Larry OConnor and Chris Buskirk (also of the American Greatness site). I estimated that the guests totaled somewhere in the vicinity of 60.
President Trump entered at 5:30 along with Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, press secretary Sean Spicer and political adviser Steve Bannon. The president made preliminary remarks on the accomplishments of his first 100 days in office. He counted 28 bills beyond executive orders cutting back on regulations and facilitating economic growth. He referred to the confirmation of Justice Gorsuch.
He predicted that Congress would send him a health care bill, thought with zero Democratic votes. He also spoke confidently of the enactment of tax reform with dramatic corporate and personal rate reductions and simplification. Then he invited questions.
He related the conservation he had with Xi at Mar-a-Lago when he advised Xi over dessert that the United States had hit Syria with 59 cruise missiles in connection with the Assads chemical weapons attacks. My noes reflect Trumps reference to a beautiful piece of chocolate cake.
Trump characterized the Obama administrations supposed resolution of the chemical weapons by their agreed removal from Syria as false. [They Syrians] duped him. It was, he said, like taking candy from a baby.
Trump fielded several questions on trade and announced the retroactive tariff on Canadian soft lumber that I wrote about last night. Canada, he asserted, has treated us very unfairly.
He defended departures from free trade in terms of reciprocity and equalization.

With these comments the event concluded. I approached Professor Kesler to check my assessment against his. An impressive performance, we both said at the same time.
I just watched a YouTube video of private citizen Donald Trump's early 2000's testimony before congress where spoke about the renovation of the UN buildings. DJT spoke for about 35 minutes, seemingly without notes. I have never been so impressed by anyone with his knowledge of a very complicated technical subject and his ability to make his points understood. His general demeanor was also very pleasant.
Of course, the powers-that-be did not take any of his advice and continued with a project that is the opposite of on time and under budget.
this congressional hearing is where is President Trump met Senator Jeff Sessions. I guess he was impressed as I am
ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, NYT, Wash Compost, et al must be boiling mad today! I hope Pres. Trump makes this conservative press event a regularly scheduled thing. What a perfect way to take your message to the friendlies instead of to the Marxist enemedia.
My Biggest Trump List ping.
This article is so terrific in its entirety, explaining all the things Trump has done to Make America Great Again in the first 100 days.
Good!
DONALD TRUMP is a modern day CYRUS and PRESIDENT for such a time as this.
Thanks for the ping.
Another day of winning. I especially liked Trump’s comments on the wall today. Did y’all handwringers hear him?
America was being looted to the tune of trillions for decades.
"America first" did not exist prior to Trump.
Thanks for the ping!
God love him always....
....I continue to thank Him for His extreme mercy in sending us Donald J Trump to lead our nation!
Thanks for the ping!!
Thank you, great article.
Thank you, I will definitely pass it on to some pearl clutchers.
Most excellent. Thanks for the ping.
Yes indeed.
He’s been as impressive as we knew he would be. I am still thrilled and excited. The few things he’s done that I’m not crazy about can be overlooked (at least for now) because he has accomplished so much.
I can’t wait to see the left totally lose it when he gets his 2nd and maybe 3rd SCOTUS appointments to make in the coming months. har har dee har har. They can thank good ole Harry Reed for changing the Senate rules, making it easier for the Pubs to do the same this year. OMG. More winning !!!
Boom!
A good read
The link to the article called The Flight 93 Election is also an excellent read
