A horde of young people disrupted traffic on a major Philadelphia highway this weekend.
The incident was captured on camera and posted Sunday on social media by multiple witnesses.
Videos show hundreds of people on bicycles riding on Interstate 676/Vine Street Expressway in Center City. Spread across all the lanes of the eastbound side, the riders pop wheelies and swerve, preventing motor vehicles from using the roadway.

The only time we ever saw a bunch of them on bikes when I was a kid, was when they came to the neighborhood and stole them.

The police were too scared to show up. Just like there were no police standing ready to round up the thugs in the BART.
Comparing the amount of damage a 20 pound bike with a 100 pound loser can do to a car, and the damage a 3,500 pound car can do to the bike and the thug-in-training on it . . .

It's not a street. It is a high-speed expressway in an open-top tunnel with bridges across it. It was excavated and built at great taxpayer expense and years of commuter inconvenience to move traffic rapidly across a dense urban area. There are plenty of ordinary streets up above on ground level.
Would you let your teen ride a bike on a high-speed eight-lane highway with cars and trucks exceeding 50 mph?
EVERY. SINGLE. TIME, that I go into Philly, it's a friggin s**t-show.
I still have Family in Philly but I avoid the city for all else.

this highway blights the neighborhood and should be removed, the pre-existing street grid removed and the property returned to original owners or their estates.
