A Brevard County man was arrested, accused of biting the family dog.

The bassturd bit the 4 month old puppy repeatedly on the ears causing her to yelp repeatedly. Hope the bassturd goes to jail.
Thank you CrimsonTideGirl. I am in total agreement
The entire matter is stupid.
With no physical report on the puppy there is no way to tell if this is how a mama dog might nip back at a nippy puppy.
Love my dogs.....never mistreated them....always take good care of them...
But at the end of the day, they are still animals....
They do NOT sleep on the bed, they are not conveyed special human rights....
10 years in prison for biting your dogs ears....That’s insane....
Anyone who would remotely think that is valid needs a serious mental health evaluation...
So you know, biting a puppy’s ear, is a valid training technique.....That’s biting, not ripping a hunk out....
He’s not a mama dog, he is an assh8le
Nobody is even bothering to distinguish an act of gross cruelty from something that makes an already yippy puppy yip some more.
We can have no reason till this happens.
Did you even read the article and see the bite marks on the puppy
My cat does worse to me when he nips.
apparantly the dude’s brother fought with him and he bit his brother in the chest and the girlfriend whose dog it is says he is where he needs to be which is in jail
That’s weird, to bite a brother in the chest. But that should call for the men in the white coats.
Thank you again, Florida, for another odd story.
(I enjoy Carl Hiaasen.)
I disagree. The dog was crying in pain. That is crossing the line.
Disciplining a puppy is fine, as long as the discipline is not sadistic.
IMO, this was sadistic. If he caused this much pain to a helpless little puppy, It wouldn’t surprise me if he were also abusive to people.
Florida Man at it again.
Exactly! I never thought I’d see the headline
My comment was regarding 10 years in prison....
If it was true abuse and the animal was significantly injured then hit him with a $500 fine and potential loss of the animal....
BTW, I train large dogs for everything from Protection to Search and Rescue, generally GSDs. I use treats for training and praise.....but there have been the occasional bite on the ear for a a very renascent puppy, it is an effective tool... And yes.....they do yelp!
Lol. Read the article maybe?
Actually, I do agree that 10 years is excessive. I do believe he abused the puppy but his actions aren’t as egregious as some of the animal abuse stories I’ve heard lately. He doesn’t have the patience or temperament to own a puppy.
As I stated in my original post, I’m just more sensitive about this subject because I have a dog that was abused and neglected by her former owners. Even though I’ve had her for over a year, she still flinches when anyone starts to pet her. It’s sad because she’s as sweet as they come.
I respect you for training service dogs.
I understand your sentiments....
I despise people who willfully abuse animals....
