When Bill O'Reilly Fought for Kate Steinle
American Thinker.com ^ | April 22, 2017 | Daniel John Sobieski

Fox news icon Bill O’Reilly, arguably the man who propelled Fox News into media dominance, has folded his tent under duress and slipped away under the cloud of multiple charges of sexual harassment. He is the latest conservative target of a liberal left that also targeted the likes of Herman Cain and even Donald Trump himself while excusing arguably the greatest sexual predator to hold a position of power, one William Jefferson Clinton.

Clinton could skate on multiple credible charges of sexual abuse and even a credible charge of rape by Juanita Broaddrick. The left’s argument then was that that was personal and as long as Clinton was doing a good job it was not any of our business. Well, sexual abuse of power is always our business, whether it is in the Oval Office or the corridors of a news conglomerate. At this point, the credibility of the charges against Bill O’Reilly are not known, but the left’s hypocrisy on this subject is.

Although an accused predator and arch-villain in the left’s cause célèbre, the “war on women”, O’Reilly should also be remembered as the greatest advocate on behalf of Kate Steinle, a woman murdered at the hands of an illegal alien who should not have been here but was allowed to prey on Steinle in the sanctuary city of San Francisco. O’Reilly was a fierce advocate for Kate’s Law, blocked by former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a law to punish those illegals who prey on American citizens: as Bill O’Reilly said in his July 7, 2015 Talking Points Memo:

Nevertheless, 14 million dollars to settle is alot. OR had a problem so did Bubba. No integrity or morals. No excuses or defense.

O’Reilly did a lot of good, whatever his flaws may have been. Seems to me that most of us would be proud to have the same said about us.

You are making an assumption without any real evidence. Plenty of payoffs occur because most of the corporate attorneys see it as an easier, and often cheaper, way around the problem and it's not their reputation at stake.

Yet I haven't heard or seen any evidence to support the charges against OR. Where's the witnesses, the emails, conversations etc? Where the hell are the facts?

When I was a kid we had a three-legged beagle dog. One day a neighbors expensive dog - a pointer of some variety - entered our property and attacked our dog.

Buddy wasn’t much to look at but he was a scrapper. Even though he was on a chain he kicked the interlopers ass.

The neighbor was aghast and filed a claim for damages. My dad dutifully contacted our insurance company who immediately paid the claim and then demanded a rider on our policy disclaiming any future responsibility for “One Three-Legged Beagle Dog”. It didn’t matter to the insurance company that we were completely in the right and the neighbor completely in the wrong.

The amount of money paid out by the network has no bearing on the culpability of Bill O’Reilly.

BOR had to pay since he knew the media would not look the other way as they did for WJC.

However, the facts in the BOR case were minor compared to WJC. Sometimes women compete using their sexuality, in his line of business.

The BOR accusers felt that this form of competition is wrong.

That is not BOR’s problem.

In sexual harassment cases, a lawyer is doing what a pimp or a pornographer is doing, cashing in on a woman’s body; however, the latter two are more honest and honorable about it!<>/p>

I do not like O’Reilly. He invites exprts in their field to talk about something at whch they are expert and then constantly interrupts them to the point that when they are gone, we never find out what they really wanted to say.

BUT:

Since when is it a violation of a woman's rights to tell her he is glad she is blond, or to tell her she is sweet chocolate?

When did it become a violet act to ask a woman for a “date”?

With that said, I know that it is very bad ethically to ask a woman for a sexual encounter if that woman is in your employ or in any other way under your power.

But unless that woman is in some way punishable, all it is is rude behavior.

FOX had other ways to punish him without cutting off their won nose. For instance, they just gave him a new contract. It would have been easy to make that contract so restrictive and so expensive to violate its conditions that a bushel basket of blue pills would not have turned him on.

I suspect that FOX is paying his replacement a lot less money and that FOX is also about to look more like CNN.

The ownership are one worlders. I am surprised that FOX has been what it has been for as long as it has.been.

The man was a liability.

And he clearly did to learn from his errors.

I don’t know, but I once asked a girl out on a date, and she purpled with rage...

I really did run spell check and proof read it as well.

But I do have macular degeneration and that really screws up proof reading.

But a typo does not negate my point.

The PC thing is becoming the tool of the nut cases. It has already become the tool for removing TV personalities and members of our government.

That is not good.

BOR had faults, apparently serious faults BUT - he also did much good in our national communities. He fought for Kate, he was fearless in gathering money for our Vets and spending the funds on the special *chairs* which could help in giving these men a portion of their life back. He raised funds for a black college band so they might make the trip to DC with new instruments to participate in the inauguration Day parade.

His faults may not be nearly as evil as what was done to him by those that wished to see his downfall.

Agreement with Bill was never constant, but he was a man who made a lasting impact.

Ha $14 mil? The Associated Press reported the other day it was $25 mil and in the end it could even be a lot more, because he had recently before he went on vacation signed a new contract.

Fox has defamed oreilly by firing him based on unsubstantiated accusations, thereby lending credence to the allegations. Wrongful termination to boot. Sky’s the limit.
