Mary McCord, the Department of Justice's acting Assistant Attorney General for National Security who is leading the investigation into possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, is stepping down from her post.
McCord will officially leave her position next month, the Associated Press reports. According to the AP, she is leaving to pursue "other opportunities."

I guess she is sick and tired of pursuing a nothing burger.
Initial reaction is that this is a good thing.
She joined justice dept under Obama and is doubtless one of his followers.
Possibly afraid of the Obama admin corruption that might come out as a result of the investigation and the effect it could have on her life expectancy.
Thanks, Curly. I don’t even know who she is ! I thought some guy had the lead.
She was probably fired. I doubt Sessions will keep the Obama feminazis around.
She is creepy looking.
It is difficult to believe that any federal attorney who has dedicated virtually her entire career to the Department of Justice, capped with the lead of a potentially Watergate level investigation, would abandon that career at its apex if there was any there, there. Surely this leftist federal attorney would not pass up the opportunity to unhorse the arch villain, Donald Trump.
As you say, this is a nothing burger and she has gone into the private sector to cash in.
Sessions is the cabinet member I feel best about, and so it is good he has such an important portfolio.
A tricky position, but he has great experience for it all.
I respect you and you're very good at posting record here at FR. However, I don't share the same for Jeff Sessions. He is turning out to be largely a disappointment to me. His reusing himself and apologizing for his testimony he gave during his confirmation was an incredible sign of weakness. It was unnecessary and even Donald Trump reportedly went ballistic about it.
Moreover, the headlines are filled with new stories that Sessions is about to charge and attempt to extradite Julia Assaunge. Huge mistake.
Sessions is not going after Hillary Clinton, John Podesta, or the rest of the crime family. Why? I would love to change my current opinion of him. I was initially very enthusiastic about him, but not right now.
That was a disappointing moment, indeed. But illegal immigration is my number one issue and I think he is taking solid action on that.
I also agree with all your disappointments re: who is and isn’t getting prosecuted—but I take those actions as coming from Sessions’s boss, not him.
That’s a dude in a wig.
You and me both SP.
I keep thinking why on earth is he going after Clinton’s and the Left’s enemies?
Is he living in some alternate universe?
I notice a lot of focus on finding leakers and prosecuting leakers.
Instead of PAYING ATTENTION TO, INVESTIGATING AND PROSECUTING THE CRIME INFORMATION THAT HAS BEEN LEAKED
Now this is very interesting. Thanks for info.
That’s a man baby.
I hope Jeff Sessions has an alternative reason for appearing like he is falling under the pressure. I think he is playing the old Rope-a-dope. Just when the opposition lets down their guard, he strikes. That’s how you nail the criminals. They think the heat is off and they relax. Then the doors blow off and the flash bang goes off. They are done.
I hope it happens.
Geez, you complainers are AMAZING!! The man has been AG for about SIXTY DAYS!!! Illegal immigration and the rounding up of criminal aliens, MS-13 is what we need to do NOW! Clinton and the rest of the scumbag Left creeps aren’t going anywhere and can wait.
Total tranny.
What about investigating Obummer’s fake, fraudulent, forged “birth certificate?”
