I question the premise that declining population is necessarily a bad thing. If technology allows an individual to be more productive, does that society really require an ever-expanding population in order to maintain its standard of living?

Just wondering aloud.

Given the current rate, you get an overwhelming elderly and disabled population dumped on you, get stuck in deficit spending, and so on, so no, it is not good.

There are 300 MILLION people in the USA. There is no population issue.
