Neo pagan decadence and crass self gratification on full display. Face it the reasonable social consensus and the values that were one held in common are no longer shared by a significant percentage of the American people. That is why the political and social divide is so deep and wide. The culture is transforming and not to the better.

Only liberals smoke pot?

That’s possible but very improbable, but obviously conservatives have also voted to legalize it.

More people voted to legalize it in my conservative county than voted for Romney in the same election, though Romney did win the county.

Pot won by more than Romney.

Marijuana is documented to cause short and long term cognition problems, permanent brain damage, and acute psychiatric problems such as psychosis. It also contains more carcinogens than tobacco products. This is all part of making Americans stupid, compliant and dependent.

They’ve been petitioning to get it out of schedule 1 for decades. Problem is that section of the federal government is under no compulsion to listen to the masses.

So does beer. Try banning that again.

Marijuana appears to be the top (but not only) subject where “conservatives” forget they are supposed to be for limited government & states’ rights.

What’s worse? Or is it this mystical stigma?

“Health effects associated with alcohol intake in large amounts include an increased risk of alcoholism, malnutrition, chronic pancreatitis, alcoholic liver disease, and cancer. In addition, damage to the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system can occur from chronic alcohol abuse.”

A lot of things go mainstream without being positive. Adultery has been as “mainstream” for generations as pot is today, but both are phenomenally bad choices. Getting your highs from the real world and from real accomplishments/experiences is far better than through chemical or underhanded means.

On Eve of 4/20 Holiday, Congressman Says ‘Marijuana Has Gone Mainstream’>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Never in my home. M.J. arrests the development of the brain, especially in teenagers and young adults up to the age of 23, tetrahydrocannabinol is stored in the fatty tissues of the brain, and frequent use over a prolonged 5 year period leads to premature aging, evidenced by premature greying and whitening of the hair.

As in all things, moderation is the key. But the problem? Like alcohol, some people cannot be moderate with cannabis, and the young are especially vulnerable.

In most traditional cultures , one finds MJ used as medicine for old people and little used outside of a treatment for arthritis. Its not called whacky weed for nothing. It clouds judgement and also can make clouded judgement a permanent thing, and because of the euphoric associated with MJ, it can easily lead to a lack of motivation to do work. MJ is a companion to slothfulness.

Opium for the masses. Let them eat cake and cloud their awareness. Excellent to put the electorate to sleep! Its primary intent is to bring on the Globalist plan to destroy democracy and individual freedom inherent in the Constitution of the United States.

A pox on MJ and its newly created , up-in-smoke billionaires.

THIS!

I try to tell myself that I just have to accept...the values of this society are so crass, so "deplorable" its hard to take and I find fewer and fewer number of people who agree with me....

but, I will not change my values...society can go to hell without me...

Plus, pot today is not the pot of the 60’s or 70’s or so I’ve heard.

[Weed] robs youth of initiative, coping and cognitive skills.

That's one of the reasons that it remains illegal for "youth", just like alcohol and cigarettes.

But adults can make their own choices about how to live their lives...

Higher levels of THC mean less harmful smoke to achieve the desired high. More winning!

Never in my home.

You should be free to make that choice for your home, and others to make their own choices for their homes. Right?

As in all things, moderation is the key. But the problem? Like alcohol, some people cannot be moderate with cannabis,

So, like alcohol, marijuana should be regulated - but not banned, which serves only to enrich and motivated violent criminals, again like alcohol.

and the young are especially vulnerable.

Since the young have been reporting for many years that they can get pot more easily than beer or cigarettes, it appears that the most effective available policy for keeping things out of youth's hands is to legalize those things for adults (thus giving the sellers economic incentive to not sell to youth).
