FUBAR’s brother SNAFU is a good one also.
I grew up saying that one as my dad used it all the time. I certainly knew the context of its proper use and thought it was a word, not an acronym. I think it was a cornerstone of WWII.
Again, got a late life education on that one too! I have a few more that I repeated in total innocence. Those were the days.
