Facebook is going through a Looney-Ville-Magnet phase the same way Craigslist did about 10 years ago.
With Craigslist, people just had to become more watchful.
C/L was usually not held liable for any dangerous outcomes.
There may be something in the Terms of Service that exempts them from most liability. Some conditions the user has to agree to in order to start using the service.

Facebook is far more an expansive, and specialized type of web service. They too may be guarded by a team of lawyers.
Still, something should be done about the growing frequency of people committing serious crimes and livestreaming the events via Facebook. There may be some delaying tactics employed for anything with certain intensities of violence.
People won’t like it. Facebook without tight regulations has the most appeal and the most potential for dissuse.

Just wait for him to check-in on facebook.

And didn’t he use livelink (or liveleak) to host his viral video?

Or is that an app that he used to put it on facebook?

[Northeast Ohio: ]

Looks to be not all that far from Pittsburgh or even rural areas of Pennsylvania.

I saw the video but didn’t have the sound on. Scary and shocking.

There was a program on TV a month or so ago.
Pairs of contestants tried to evade ‘capture’ by a group of law enforcement officers for 30 days.
Out of 9 pairs two evaded the sleuths.

One of the law men’s best weapons was license plate readers in the medians of highways.(something I didn’t know existed) Once they knew the plate they could track them.

Seems to me the police could or have at least located the general area of this guy.
