Weiner Rising in White House: Ally of Disgraced Ex-Congressman Hired

Jared Kushner and his wife Ivanka Trump enlisted the services of Risa Heller, a New York City public relations figure known for her work with Democrats including former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and Gov. David Paterson (D-NY), when they came to Washington to take up their official posts in the Trump White House, according to a report in Buzzfeed. The revelation came amid reports that a New York City set with a history of friendly ties to the Democratic party is gaining traction in President Donald Trump’s White House, much to the chagrin of conservative commentators. Members of the Kushner family itself donated large sums to Democratic causes until a few years ago, and Jared has reportedly been accused of being “a Democrat” by more nationalist and populist factions within the White House. Another oft-cited member of this NYC-clique is the Director of Trump’s National Economic Council, registered Democrat and former Goldman Sachs executive Gary Cohn.

Asked by Buzzfeed about her choice, Ivanka responded in a statement, “Risa is incredibly talented, driven and passionate. She is a formidable advocate and respected by all as a trustworthy and honest broker of facts.”

Her husband Jared echoed her sentiments. “She’s the best fighter in the business, is universally respected, and most importantly has always told me what she really thinks, good or bad,” he said.

Maybe Kennedy will retire and get replaced by someone just to the right of Clarence Thomas.

They hired a PR person? Are we paying for that? Just get to work. You need an entourage?

They hired someone who thinks Weiner is a “good person.”

How do we know Ivanka didn’t order the Tomahaks or the MOAB?

I have no idea whether you're trying to be witty, or whether that's a serious question. Either way, it does nothing to address the growing concerns I have with Ivanka and Jared.

If she is going to be blamed for every decision the President makes, pick it.

She really needs to go back to her job of designing dresses! She was really good at it. The White House certainly doesn’t need her input.

“President Trump has said that he wants to hear all sides of a story before making a decision. That is what a businessman does, as opposed to a politician.”

Respectfully disagree. The liberal side of every story is either outright false or is driven by a worldview that is diametrically opposed to conservative values and policies.

The business analogy doesn’t work because business decision making is informed by objective criterion: what is best for the bottom line. This doesn’t mean business people don’t have subjective views, but if they are being honest, they are guided by the same principles.

In politics, conservatives and liberals are not working toward the same goals and are guided by vastly different visions. Hence, adding liberal opinions and ideas to the decision making mix in a conservative administration is always going to be destructive.

I don't appreciate you putting words in my mouth. I never blamed Ivanka for a damned thing.

If you're going to spar with someone, you need to take up the points they make - not dub in points of disagreement you have with others.

OMG. Trump is supposedly draining the swamp, while his daughter and son-in-law just opened up a wide spigot to bring the trash of the trash-—Weiner & Paterson (dumbest governor moron in the last 100 years) right into the inner circle of the White House. I’m afraid that the Kushners need to be shoved into second-tier importance. They obviously don’t have the experience or ability to make these kind of major league judgments, and Trump should know that.

He is in a position where he needs to make people feel like they are at least being heard, having a chance to speak. With so many against him, this is a way to build rapport, without which he will get nowhere when things have to go through Congress. I agree that the libs are almost always wrong, but “know your enemy.” That is the only way to defeat them.

Rubio??? Jeb??? Horses***!

Reference me one post where I ever voiced support either one of those clowns.

I did, however, support Ted Cruz early on. I did like the things Trump was talking about doing, but did not believe him.

However, once it became clear Trump would be the nominee, I backed him siply because the alternative (Hillary) was unacceptable.

That being said, because I voted for doesnt mean I have to look the other way when he goes against the things he campaigned on.

“If Trump lets Bannon go, there will be a perception of favoritism and nepotism, vs. the conservative agenda.”

I think we’re already there. He’s put too many rotten apples high in his ranks that will compromise his promised conservative agenda. And one bad apple DOES spoil the whole bunch, no matter what The Osmonds and the Jackson 5 say.

President Trump did not get to where he is by “letting” other people, including his kids call the shots for him. Don’t be sucked in by trolls, fake news, etc that will always try to undermine what IS happening. I know people who said even if they did not like Trump, they voted for him just to get a solid Supreme Court pick....Well, less than 100 days and Justice Gorsich is ON the bench!
