To say we consider Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross a man with a unique skill-set for this defined moment in U.S. economic history would be an understatement of epic proportions. Ross is one of the most consequential and dynamic forces within the President Trump administration.
Our message is simple the games are over, and improper treatment of the United States will no longer be tolerated. We will approach future negotiations and actions with a clarity of purpose guiding us as we work to establish both free and fair trade. Unfortunately, NAFTA negotiations cannot begin until Congress accepts our 90-day notification letter in compliance with the Trade Promotion Act. But, under President Trumps leadership, I have no doubt that we will be successful in rebalancing American trade in favor of American workers and businesses. link

Love it!
Odds are the House or Senate will take the full 90 days before acting.
“Presidents second executive order empowers the Department of Homeland Security to require companies to put up collateral in the form of cash, insurance bonds, or letters of credit in order to import goods.”
and:
“there has never been such a systematic collection, review, and analysis of the data.”
If most Americans would get off their ass and learn what Team Trump is doing, they would want to arrest most DC politicians. It is a shame to learn that all these years, countries have taken advantage of us. Now I know what Trump meant when he said the people running our government are stupid. He’s right...Obama’s agencies couldn’t have cared less about these issues. Simply amazing!!!
Your right...most Americans don’t know and really could care less...shame I think...
And yet you post this and it draws practically no interest, but the other day, OMG there were dozens of undies in a knot about the seating arrangement in the Mara Lago war-room, where Mr. Ross was closer to Trump than...someone.
I guess it just shows that the same problem exists here on FR as in the real world.
Which is ironic, if true, since he looks and articulates for all the world just like Huckleberry Hound.
Love this cabinet!

I’d guess that most, if not all, Freepers are already pretty much aware of this, unless they’ve been in locked in safe somewhere in the middle of Timbuktu for the last year.
“Love this cabinet!”
Anybody who watched CNBC regularly over the past 20 years knows Ross like he was a family member...one of a handful of go-to guests on the economy...guy’s a keeper!!!
My bad - I intended to reply to another topic and ended up comment here by accident! Oooops. Neverrrmiiinnd...
Love Wilbur Ross. A model of “quiet competence” in a sound bite media driven nation.
Again Trump and his admin acts
Congress is soineless and on recess
LOVE me some Wilbur.
I think Trump has figured out that he was wrong when he said the people running our government is stupid. They’re not stupid. They’re crooks on the take and bought and paid for.
He knew they were worse than stupid. At one rally, more towards the end of the campaign, he said something like “They’re stupid, or worse”, paraphrasing. Actually IIRC he said that more than once, I watched a lot of his rallies but not all for sure.
The folks in my circle are not “stupid” but I may make the remark.
I think what he means is they are “Stupid” for the actions they take or believe in to keep America free.
No. You’re absolutely right. Candidate Trump often, if not always added disclaimers to his statements. like “repeal and replace” “stupid or something else”. Observant people understand that ‘something else’ means nefarious and self serving interests. .
Yep, I knew I liked him when he wore velvet slippers with the seal on them and a goofy tie.
