United’s lawyer’s will press him to settle. They will tell him

- You don’t want TMZ or others further exposing your private life to the public.
- WE are not responsible for your beating. We’re sorry it happened, but that’s the Chicago Transit Cops. Good luck suing them.
- Your ticket clearly states its a contract of carriage with many limitations. Your case won’t go far in court.
- In sum, take $250K and be happy with it.

They’ll probably settle for $500K

My bet is a minimum of $10mm. I heard that before boarding, when they were offering $800, someone said, “I’ll give you my seat for $1600.” Everyone laughed. Those seats selling at less than $6000 should have looked good to United versus this hot mess!

Law enforcement has routinely prosecuted people for the outcomes of a chain of events...like if you steal an ambulance and then someone dies because that ambulance wasn’t available you get charged with manslaughter or something.

That means that United is at least in part responsible for the actions of the Chicago cops because United initiated the chain of events and they did so wrongfully.

Like if I call a SWAT team to your house under false pretenses then I’m responsible for their actions.

Same thing.

The reason you are wrong about this is that United is guilty of breaching the law. Its not just optics. United cannot afford to let this play out in court. My guess is they offer $3-$5 million. Its a cheap way out.

Dao ought to demand his own private United 757 with flight crew on-demand 24/7/365 anywhere in the world for the remainder of his natural life.

Thanks to the MSM, it's already been done and there is nothing the defense attorneys can do to prevent the further revelation of his background if the media so desires.

If the airlines makes the mistake in taking this to a jury trial, such information will never be mentioned since it is totally irrelevant to the beat down Dr. Dao suffered......

They’ll probably settle for $500K

Are you serious? The attorneys alone are going to snatch up over a million dollar themselves.......

My guess is that Dao's settlement will exceed over $20 million considering the fact that not only has his reputation been further sullied, but the diagnosis of a concussion which may or may not affect his quality of life and whether or not it my result in future brain related conditions............

Suggest you re-check your logic here. United Air Lines called the Chicago Aviation Police after breaking their own rules repeatedly trying to deplane Dao on their own first, and then calling the Chicago Aviation Police. Dao is going to walk away with something north of $400,000,000 after both United Airlines and the City of Chicago have to pay him.

There are two sets of deep pockets here getting their asses sued off. The first is United Airlines. The second is the City of Chicago since they DEMANDED command and control of the Chicago Aviation Police.

I don't make the $400,000,000 claim lightly. I'm familiar with the lawyer and the firm that took his case. They don't take cases like this unless they're going to set a precedent, and get a massive payout for their client and themselves.

Mark this post. I'm right.

He’s going to get a cool $17 million. Bank on it!
