A former United States Marine who traveled to New Jersey with a gun he legally owned but which was not registered in New Jersey is facing three years in prison for firearm law violations.
The three years is the minimum sentence that former Marine Sergeant Hisashi Pompey has to serve before he can even be eligible for parole under New Jerseys strict gun control laws.
ABC 7 reports that Pompey did three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan for which he received medals for bravery. He was a military police sergeant.

These are prideful “rednecks.” All of the cachet, none of the virtue. Yeehaws without compassion or mercy. Real rednecks despise them.
Can they sell AR-15’s, SKS’s, AK-47’s, 30 round magazines?
When biker gangs outdo your heroes in virtue it’s time to look in the mirror. The outlaw credo is not to go out and do wicked things in purpose. It’s that the law has gone rotten and therefore private guardians of rights are necessary.
“He is. Apparently you are also.”
I am siding with equal justice for all, which apparently is a foreign concept to you.
You have to ask yourself, if all that was done by the Whacko PD at Twin Peaks was completely legal, why is the Whacko Just Us “system” dragging it’s feet. Why are the defense lawyers having to use procedures to “drag Abel Reyna into court? If all this passes the legal “sniff test,” why all the delays? Answer: Reyna and the higher-ups at the Whacko PD know that what they did wasn’t within the law so they now are using every legal device at their disposal to prevent the biker trials from proceeding. You watch, when they acquit the first biker, the legal dam is going to break in McLennan County and they don’t have enough money or insurance to cover the judgements that will be coming behind. And the fact that The State of Texas hasn’t stepped in yet, speaks volumes about protecting the government at all costs. I just imagine that the time is not far off when one of the lawyers representing a biker takes this up to a Federal Court on a Civil Rights denial claim. You may not like bikers, but they do have the same basic rights afforded you and me.
“When biker gangs outdo your heroes in virtue its time to look in the mirror”
When you have something valid to say, please let me know.
It seems to suit the fuzzy narrative that biker gangs are all evil all the time.
They said that about the gang that Jesus had. Think on that this Good Friday.
I already did. You have your fingers in your ears and going la la la you can’t hear me.
“You may not like bikers, but they do have the same basic rights afforded you and me.”
There you go again. Associating gangsters with bikers.
PLEASE. These were gangsters, not bikers.
I am a biker but I am not a gangster. Been a biker since 1961. But my major biking days are over. Roads are just too dangerous for my old body.
Now I drive a 500 hp cage with AC and all the comforts except automatic transmission.
LOL! Equating biker gangsters with the followers of Jesus!
I guess that is why the Bandidos and Cossacks had their shootout on a Sunday?
Do States Rights as described in the Constitution include the nullification of the 10 Amendments if a state so chooses?
It wasn’t all of either group. Most fled. Nobody who fled wanted it.
Jesus had Judas too, remember.
1: The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.
IMO,this should be grounds for voiding all state firearm laws that are more restrictive than those in the “free” states.
You misread the clause. It entitles non-citizens to the same liberties as the citizens of a state. But the founders were clear that it did not over-ride the laws on the citizens by the state.
IOW, non-residents of a state are treated as residents of the state they are visiting and subject to those same laws.
” Most fled. Nobody who fled wanted it.”
If you don’t want it, then don’t join a gang, don’t arm yourself and go to a gangfight.
“There you go again. Associating gangsters with bikers.”
I am not associating anything with anything. These people deserve the sam justice as you or i would. Seems to me that getting on with the trials would serve everyone’s interests. So you have to ask yourself why isn’t Reyna moving forward?
I just imagine that among those arrested, there are some bad guys, but most likely not all of them are in that category. But that shouldn’t matter. The Constitution provides for speedy trials for everyone. The Justice System should be able to sort out who did what at Twin Peaks. I get it that you don’t like the criminal element in motorcyclists, I don’t either and I live not to far from the place where the Hell’s Angels were founded with guys like Sonny Barger. And we have seen here just how bad some bikers are. That said, the courts should be adjudicating what occurred in Whacko and not taking years to do it.
I will try REALLY REALLY hard to imagine that!
EXACTLY
“The Constitution provides for speedy trials for everyone. “
Perhaps you should do your homework!
Strother conferred with District Attorney Abel Reyna, prosecutors Michael Jarrett and Amanda Dillon and Northcutt in his chambers for about 20 minutes before Strother announced in open court that he reluctantly was granting the continuance, but said he understands the necessity to do so.
Reyna left court quickly after the hearing and declined comment. He declined to say if his office opposed the trial postponement.
1. He’s a fool for moving to NJ, even if he “needed” to go there for a job.
2. He’s a fool for failing to read their gun laws carefully and failing to follow those laws. I live in the People’s Republic of Maryland, only slightly less strict, and I don’t even stop for gas when I have a handgun in my car. The law is clear (unconstitutional but unambiguous), and I don’t violate my state’s gun laws, not when the penalty includes a loss of gun rights!
3. It would be nice if the Fat Man would take a break from Krispy Kreme long enough to pardon this innocent victim of his state’s unconstitutional laws. Governor Christie probably won’t, which is one reason I didn’t seriously consider him for president in the last election, but it would still be nice if he would finally stand up for our God-given rights.
4. Now that Gorsuch is on the bench, it may be time for a Supreme Court challenge to extreme anti-gun laws. I wonder if this Marine has the right case for an NRA challenge - probably not, but it would be nice.
Don’t go places where you aren’t wanted or you may end up “wanted”. LOL! Like I said, we’re venturing in to calibfornia Monday for a few days and I gotta remember to disarm the truck before we depart. Don’t want to get “profiled” for having out of state plates. Hope the window tint isn’t too dark for their standards either.
