And I will say this, if there really is some sort of arrangement between China and the US to remove Kim, that would be the hugest thing to happen in decades and would put Xi Jinping’s rise and ultimate motives in a completely new, and hard to understand, light.
Well ..... China IS a player in the game so I suspect they will do as much leveraging to get what they want as Trump uses ....N.Korea is their Joker Card...they can use it to make their hand or save it for another round. But Trump does know this that’s why he said either with or not China he’s going to fix the problem....and as I understand it China’s people have told Fat Boy Trumps not kidding.

Yes, indeed! And I expect something of that nature to be the probable case. I would not venture to guess just how it will play out but there will probably be some big changes in relationships and statuses (stati?).

You give Trump too little credit. Think of events in one dimension. Think spider web. What happens when you tug this thread? Most people can visualize it. Now think 2D, then 3D then 4D. Think of a 3D spider web with the variable of time, ie 4D. If I tug here what happens over time. I think at the 3D level. A very few media pundits do too. 3D thinkers are not worthy of carrying the briefcase of the person that adds the time dimension. I look back and see what he did and it astonishes me that he saw what was going to happen. He does it over and over again.

But it’s pretty sure that Washington hasn’t prepared itself for the worst-case scenario.
In actuality, the situation has been out of control for at least 25-30 years because of major strategic misjudgments.
Furthermore, this has already caused the worst-case scenario, a belligerent nuclear / missile / sub capable North Korea. It never needed to get to this state of affairs.
The threat is now at a point for the region and the US that North Korea's threats cannot be ignored as baseless rhetoric. Doing so would be the grossest kind of strategic misjudgment if Kim follows through on any of his threats unilaterally. It is obvious that if left alone, something very bad is going to happen.
He is a a realist who learns and adapts at a rate that most have trouble comprehending.
Some may love Chinese money too much, and others are part of typical east coast elites. Some of them can be efficient managers or trusted intermediaries. But they should not be allowed to make decisions on policy direction. Many of them are too much in love with finesse (euphemism for expedience) for their own good.
When the time is right he will use Russia to scare China.

Because he's an adaptable realist. The Bill by Ryan was flawed, but it pointed us in the right direction and had the best chance of broad enough support to pass - take more crap out and the "moderates' drop out - put more in and the "principled conservatives" (all or nothing types) stand even firmer against it.
Reality is that no Dims will ever support repeal and the Repubs are so broad-spectrum/"compassionate conservative" it will take a balancing act fit for Ed Sullivan to get enough support.
