Hey y'all. Don't eff with me, I'm drunk, but somehow i got this virus called brontok something screwin with my computer while I'm trying to enjoy pounding a few brewskis and jammin to some old Guess Who tunes. Are Burton Cummings and Randy Bachmann the coolest rock and roll dudes ever or what? Anyway, A while back somebody posted 3 or 4 essential free virus protection programs or whateve the hel you call them and I'm hoping one of them wil rid me of this pest. A little help?

Go to programs and see if a new one added and can be uninstalled.

Type msconfig and look for strange names of open programs.

Too bad they didn’t stay together for very long, but if they did would, we never would’ve had those great BTo utnes.

I’ve seen some people use Avast (anti-virus), Malewarebytes, and CC Cleaner together. They’re free.

I can vouchsafe for these programs - my household uses nothing but! And everything hums...

CA....

Most everything advertised as essential in a Web banner is probably aimed at getting you to click and let them install something bad.

when you totally get rid of virus- get rollbackRX- it is system restore on steroids- cost is very reasonable- and will save your computer completely whenever you get a virus or trojan or anything weird happens- a one time fee that lasts forever- well worth the investment- Check it out- it restores your computer at boot incase computer won’t even start- and it restores everything to an earlier state- unlike window’s system restore which doesn’t-

Thank you. I’ll check it out. I’ve intalled the avast.com and the malwarebytes thing and it seems to be running better already. My cursor isn’t bouncing all over the screen and youtube vidoes aren’t skipping around like an old 45.

First boot your computer with AVG Rescue Disk on a CD or on a flash drive, let it seek out and destroy the worst, then install Malwarebytes (free) and scan your hard drive with that. Go from there.

The free security programs don't tend to be as good as the paid programs. To get rid of the virus, install and run the two week Webroot free trial here:

https://www.webroot.com/customerSupport/trialRegistration.php

It installs and scans very quickly. After your computer is clean, either pay for Webroot or another security program on Amazon, which will always be cheaper than paying the company that produces the software, or just use one of the free internet security products.

I appreciate your good taste in music.
To fix your virus problems you need to change your taste in computer hardware and operating system manufacturer. It is the only solution. Windows IS a virus.

Windows IS a virus.

I think you should say, the INTERNET is a virus! That's the way it's looking to me.
