We had a scandal at my University. A coach enrolled several students in an online math course at another school. The coach took all the tests, and all of these students passed the course. When we found out what happened our President fired both the head coach and the assistant coach that day. The players were kicked off the team, and they lost their scholarships. Our President called the NCAA and informed them what had happened and asked for an immediate investigation. Because of our quick response to this situation, and our openness about the situation the NCAA only put our program on probation.

Way to much money involved for the NCAA to do that. It’s their wallet too.

Slap on the wrist and a wink and a nod, nothing will happen to UNC, they are the NCAA chosen one along with Duke. Were this the University of Kentucky basketball program or University of Alabama football program the hammer would have been dropped long ago and it would have been bad. I suspect no post season for one season for all their sports and slight reduction of scholarships. NO wins or championships vacated, a slap on the wrist.

If the NCAA is going to give a pass on blatantly and systemic academic fraud from the Universities academic sector to their sports departments then what’s the point of the NCAA existence? The NCAA is so set up for a class action discrimination lawsuit by numerous other universities, coaches and players.
