Hundreds of detainees at an immigration holding center in Washington state began refusing meals in a hunger strike to protest conditions at the facility and delayed immigration hearings, activists said on Tuesday.
A group of about 100 detainees at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, Washington, refused their lunches on Monday, with 300 others joining the protest that night and the following morning, according to Maru Mora Villalpando, an activist in touch with the detainees.

At some institution (Arapaio?), when the inmates acred up, they were fed nutritious baby food, since they acted like babies. Love to see that in Washington, but . . .
The guards ought to stage an Open Buffet a few yards away from the holding cells. The buffet will be open to STAFF ONLY. It will be catered by Panda Express, IHOP and Taco Bell. The aromas will drive the ‘undocumented’ immigrants muy, muy loco.
The ACLU lawyers will somehow find out, and go screaming to the Facility Manager about ‘cruel & inhuman’ punishment. Afterward, the ACLU lawyers will meet at the Open Buffet and discuss strategy over plates of Tomato Beef Chow Mein and Blueberry Pancakes, (with extra syrup).
