If he’s a doctor, that may explain why he felt it was urgent for him to get home.

If I were there and could afford it circumstantially, I would have given up my seat for him.

Not being able to stand by and watch people abused at airports and on planes makes it dangerous for me to fly.
I entered a secured area where an elderly man was sitting and crying because he could not put his own shoes back on and get to his flight. No one would help him.

An employee yelled at me to get out of the area and I said I would after I tied his shoes and packed him up. Her face was beat red, she was so angry but I got it done and got out before I was victimized. My husband about had a heart attack. I’m not so good at doing airports since the Nazis took over.

Uniteds’ problem isn’t what they will lose in the civil case, (which will be more than you estimate) they are already losing stock value. The PR damage may be terminal. This whole incident has been handled horribly by the company. It may have been Chicago airport goons who carried it out, but it should never have been initiated by the employees

Big mistake to put that in writing. He basically just admitted that his company mistreated the passenger. A lawyer will have a field day with that admission in court.

It appeared that many of the passengers on that flight were mad/upset/horrified at what happened. I wonder how they acted towards the United employees when they boarded the plane? Did I miss that part?

Nope.

The reason they overbook is many passengers simply do not show up.

Before I had a job that required me to fly private and I flew commercial.

Anytime they got over $600 I was off the plane and asking for coupons which were always granted, along with hotel and free meals.

I think they offered $1,000 on this flight. I would have jumped and asked for coupons, hotel, meal and a time certain for next flight...next day...

When a doctor refuses to give up a seat he paid for on a Sunday flight, some consideration is in order. This isn’t like Bojo Jones the unemployed deadbeat saying, I’ve got to be home tonight. However you feel about the guy, he has a patient load he has to service the next day. This is unreasonable from the getgo, to hell with their algorithm to pick people at random to toss off

Watch the video again. People around him didn’t think he was the unreasonable one.Their stock took a big hit today and I’m sure their ridership is too. People will punish them badly for this

Munoz had also worked for Coca-Cola Co. and PepsiCo Inc..

That’s interesting. He worked for Coke in the past. This could be the biggest PR f up since New Coke

But the flight was not overbooked. Getting tired of seeing this argument. United decided to boot people off to make way for their own employees who needed a flight. This whole incident did not need to occur and they instigated it. And they actually knew it was an issue BEFORE they ever boarded the passengers and decided to go ahead and board them anyway before it was even resolved. That’s stupid...getting people loaded and seated on the plane and then telling them they have to get off for a situation you knew had already materialized before you put them on the plane? No, he shouldn’t have resisted the cops (though I’m still not seeing how knocking him out was appropriate), but United should have never created this situation to begin with. They created it.

They could have even gotten them a ticket on a competitors airline if needed. There were surely flights going to Louisville International from Chicago O’Hare.

Whole situation didn’t have to occur...even with them on that flight they should have taken care of it before they boarded all of the passengers and then telling people to get off after they are on. That’s just crazy.
