My BIL is retired Army Artillery Lt. Col. He tends to believe it.

I read an analysis which said artillery can cause a lot of damage but not truly level a city. Takes sustained bombing for many months to do that. Artillery would be more of a terror weapon. Lots of risk.

I don’t think they have 2 hours. I would suspect we have subs that could deliver massive tonnage in 10 minutes.
