personally, i believe the long term goal should be to forge a working alliance with russia and china along with patched up relations with the EU... then all of us work together to get rid of isis / AQ and cool down NKorea.

no one wins from radical elements constantly working to light off a WMD in your capital.

unless someone is looking at the threat as a good excuse for increased taxes and defense spending. if that’s the case, we need to address that and find a better direction / motivation for our countries

A Russian/US alliance of the Kissinger realpolitik type was our best hope for restraining China while she matured politically and found her way into a world we could all live in peacefully.

That alliance ain't gonna happen now and one of these days in the near future we are probably going to have to throw one of LS's brush back pitches at China - and she may not be able to restrain her response being the hot headed youngster on the world stage that she is.
