What you are ignoring is all the analysis in the OP. Trump needs to charter a course that will keep us out of wars. He needs to be willing to do what it takes to convince the International community that he will not back down and that he has the muscle and the stones to enforce American interests. Just taking his ball and going home isn’t going to keep America safe.
I see no indication that he wants to get involved in Syria. Did you listen to Tillerson’s interviews today? Sounds like Trump & Tillerson plan to get all the parties, including Russia, committed to working together & then to broker a political solution.
