As oil and gas was not a factor during the “Harvest of the Steppes” period, don’t you think the oil, gas and strategic pipeline location would provide more than enough economic foundation for the Ottoman Empire’s economy? In doing a search of “Turkey oil and gas” I found numerous articles indicating they stand to profit immensely.
