I really don’t think this was all about Syria...
This action was for others to observe and learn...

I understand the need for doing something to establish Trump's credibility on the world stage. And this action has done that quite nicely.
Now, hopefully, we can get back to solving some problems. Back to the status quo with Americans & the Kurds systematically taking territory & lives from ISIS and the Assad forces & the Russians (with occasional help/coordination with the Kurds) systematically taking territory & lives from the Islamic rebels (57 varieties of Al Qaeda).

What you are ignoring is all the analysis in the OP. Trump needs to charter a course that will keep us out of wars. He needs to be willing to do what it takes to convince the International community that he will not back down and that he has the muscle and the stones to enforce American interests. Just taking his ball and going home isn’t going to keep America safe.
I see no indication that he wants to get involved in Syria. Did you listen to Tillerson’s interviews today? Sounds like Trump & Tillerson plan to get all the parties, including Russia, committed to working together & then to broker a political solution. Despite everyone at home second guessing him Trump is sticking to the program.

As long as Trump does not listen to the liberal views of Field Marshall
Von Kushner and Czar Ivanka, he should be fine.

Trump’s strategy makes absolute sense. Appreciate the info.

If I was there I’d turn the Kurds loose, so long as they stayed south of Turkey.

Thanks LS. We needed some good insightful information.

Alex Jones reports that a massive invasionary force is ongoing right now in Syria. Also major moves are being made against the nutty Nork’s. World history is being written before our eyes and s*** is about to get real. If you believe in prayer, it’s time to get busy.

I respect your inside knowledge.
I know a bit myself. The US military has prepared for EMP for 30 years.

I agree with many of you that the evidence was not clear that it was Assad---indeed, it could well have been ISIS. I also agree this does not help in our fight against ISIS.
I think President Trump's biggest, maybe only, mistake was not making the case for his 180 degree turn around on his campaign pledge to keep us out of wars where we do not have vital national interests at stake before he took action against Assad. We've been subjected to false flags before and now I wonder if President Trump was played - and that puts a distance between us that did not have to be there.

I think that would have seriously undercut his “unpredictability” which he cherishes and it would have given all the various Cong factions time to McCain-ize & get their mitts on it. It would have been much worse, and bigger.

Thanks, LS. Would not have seen your cogent post without the ping. Let’s hope some of the hand-wringing, jerks paid attention this time.
