Exactly wrong.

It’s legal in OR and CA and the illegal grows have exploded. Illegal as in stealing water, not getting permits, using banned chemicals, growing ag in residential areas, growing in National forests, etcetcetc.

The reason for legalization is supposedly all this tax $$$ that will be pouring into the state coffers so they can continue to destroy the states with their commieprog agendas. Of course the illegal grows pay no taxes...

I live in OR and it’s gone crazy since legalization, and friends over the border in CA tell me the same thing.

It’s legal in CA and Oregon, but not at the federal level. So the more growers try to comply with state law, the more evidence against them for the feds. And illegal grows have been going on long before it was legalized. It needs to be legal at the federal level so growers can operate in the open. Like I said, you don’t see illegal tobacco grows. I live in CA, and it’s not “going crazy”.

...Illegal as in stealing water...

Well I live in OR too, and the only reason anyone is "stealing" water is that the state has declared it owns all of the water in Oregon. All rain water, all flowing water in rivers and streams and all ground water.

I live where there is no municipal water supply, so they graciously allow me to drill a well at my own expense and extract enough water to live on and to irrigate all of one acre. Any more and they will give me grief. And, the one acre can only be used for non-commercial purposes.

Now a few people have water rights grandfathered before the government stole all the water, but for the most part you are just plain out of luck.

At first, the cartels switched to focusing on heroin. They thought their illegal pot would not be wanted after legalization. Now they know they will be able to undercut prices - no taxes.

Illegal pot is going nuts. And it will be neurotoxic with those chemicals.

But all the underclass illegals or poor kids will buy the cheapest weed. Good plants will be expensive. So the cartels are happily growing more weed.
