Nigel Farage and other right-wing populists turn on Donald Trump after missile strikes
The Telegraph ^ | 4/7/17 | Helena Horton

Many former Donald Trump supporters have turned on the President after his decision to retaliate against the Assad regime for its chemical weapons attack.

Nigel Farage, Milo Yiannopoulos Katie Hopkins, right-wing vlogger Paul Joseph Watson, Ukip leader Paul Nuttall and Ukip donor Arron Banks are among the Trump supporters who have been disappointed by their hero.

Mr Farage said: "I am very surprised by this. I think a lot of Trump voters will be waking up this morning and scratching their heads and saying 'where will it all end?'

Do you know that what is going on in Africa makes Syria look like a church social? Where’s the outrage about that?

NO, they didn’t say it. But its the unavoidable consequence of Assad falling that there will be a Sunni Jihadi nation on their border.

“We get to be seen as a country that doesn’t sit back and do nothing while little kids and babies are gassed to death.”

That is a ludicrous basis for a foreign policy, or policy decision for war.

But it’s the one that will play well with the daytime TV crowd and LIV.

Yo0u know, those who are ignorant and of weak mind.

This will not lead to WW3. The Russians struck what they claim/thought was a terrorist nest in retaliation for the subway suicide bombing. Neither the Russians nor the Syrians will do anything about this because that would be taking ownership of the chemical weapons the Russians told Assad to use.
Result: Trump is now the leader of the free world and those who thought they were still dealing with the cowardly Barry Obama now know they aren’t. North Korea can read the writing on the wall even when it is in English.

Rex Tiilerson is going to Moscow to tell Putin to keep his boy Assad in line. They are “they.”

We are leaving some wiggle room for Putin. We can do business but it will be on our terms. As to whom “we” refers, “we” is Trump.

Here’s a simple way to remember who we are and who they are. We’re the good guys. They’re the bad guys.

For the last eight years, we had a President who didn’t agree with this simple rule.

I am assuming you are answering the last two questions.
How do you answer these questions?

“How does this concern “us”?
Are Americans dying?
Is our National security at risk?

Dropping cruise missiles is no commitment. Clinton and Obama also used them. These people are overreacting.

We and Russia share an interest is kicking the sh*t out of the terrorists. This means we share an interest in bringing the civil wars in the Middle East to an end. However the civil wars began, we share this interest. There’s room for a deal. A strong president - and only a strong president - can make a deal happen. Donald Trump and Rex Tillerson are businessmen. They are practical and hard-nosed people. I don’t claim to have special insight into this mess, but I think it’s a good thing we have gotten rid of the politicians and brought in the outsiders.

You are absolutely correct. We are, I think, in a period much like the early 1930s. Back then, Hitler was on the rise, but most people simply ignored the terrible threat that he was. And the world payed dearly for that.

Now, Assad is a terrible person. But he is an enemy of the radical Islamists. So Trump’s attack on Assad has helped radical Islam. It would be like FDR bombing Russia while Russia was fighting Hitler.

Reagan bombed Libya and after that he didn’t hear a peep from him after that.

He did not bomb Russian territory.

Is that like ‘shall protect each of them against invasion’....by keeping the same a sieve and non-enforcement of immigration Law??

VASTLY easier to keep them OUT of the country than eliminate an ideology; yet we don’t do that either.

When we start fighting a war (Constitutionally, btw) with your proposed intention and purpose, you let us know.

You summed up my thinking perfectly. What concerns me is Tillerson saying we need to get a coalition together to oust Assad. That sounds like another Islamist quagmire to me. The ME functions better with secular dictators, and the Jewish and Christian have a better survival rate.

Indeed, and as my comments indicated, I certainly do not discount that he may be "sending a strong message"
