Just a detail, but it’s possible many of our Tomahawk missiles had cluster munitions (166 “little” bombs each, or almost 10,000 grenade-like messes?) instead of 1,000 pound bombs. In that case, we’d make a mess of equipment but do very little structural damage. Bulldozers could clear most of the damage in a couple hours, leaving what the video showed - particularly if they brought in an aircraft to park under the bunker or if at least one airplane survived.

Aaaand that kind of stupid comment does nothing for the debate
Trumps people if they read this site need to know what the “ base” is thinking and we will not be deterred from discussing our views

For whatever reason

“Some of the Liberals are happy about this and that is a bad sign.”

That narrative is an epic fallacy. Just because Pelosi & Schumer support a military action doesn’t make the action unwise or unwarranted.

Lot’s of FUD being spewed this morning regarding this attack. Never-trumpers thought there was blood in the water for them to feed on. Instead they are just drowning in their own idiocy, IMO.

Of course we had evidence
From the rebels who reported aircraft dropping CW on the children
From the on scene videos shot by the white helmets in their anti- sarin CW gear ( bandannas on their faces)
And from the Turks -

honest brokers all

While another video shows massive damage, if you think a tomahawk just shows a black smudge on the pavement you will believe anything.

The camera shots are narrow in their focus. This is to mask or minimize the damage. The Russians will both exaggerate the provocation and minimize the damage.

As to the damages: The runways can be repaired and the vintage warcraft are not much more expensive than the cruise missiles are.

Typically we spend $100 million to cause several millions in damages or less. The other side, through IEDs and such, spends hundreds of dollars to achieve enormous consequences in terms of terror. The mathematics of a war of attrition aren’t favorable.

BTW The concrete and dirt bunkers look relatively inexpensive and robust.

Arial bombing has its limitations. As for the signal being sent, we can’t yet say whether it is pinpricks (that set us back more than they cost them), or whether the other side now recognizes that there’s a new sherif in town. On the other hand, making Syria or a part of it into a no-fly zone can turn the tide on the ground. We could use Syria to field test our F-22s and F-35s.

The only reason the Putin butt kissers supported Trump is because they thought he would suck up to their guy in Moscow, as he goes about fulfilling his wish to restore the evil empire and then-some with positions in the strategic, oil/gas-rich Middle East.

Well, my personal belief is that Assad is the far lesser of two evils. By this action we are helping “rebels” who are much more violent and radically opposed (and therefore dangerous) to Israel and the US than Assad.

I would like to see some honest footage of the damage. As far as the larger ramifications of this action...it remains to be seen. Much of it depends on Trump. He needs our support now more than ever.

Apparently, we just tested our TLAM capabilities against Russia’s air defense capabilities, and both sides scored. I hope we learn from a detailed analysis of the strike. The lessons learned might be our biggest gain from this operation.

Doesn’t look like much that a few guys with spackle, shovels, and brooms can’t fix. Those jets seem to be unharmed.

Grozny, Chechnya, following Russian air strikes, but before the tanks and self-propelled artillery moved in to finish the job.

and then, the tanks came.

I doubt that those happy liberals have the same intelligence that President Trump has.

And the opinions of happy liberals are generally unsubstantial.

Some of the Liberals are happy about this and that is a bad sign.

They were happy in the early evening of the last presidential election day, too.

The next morning, not so much!

Some of the submunitions are on time fuzes, others are rigged for antidisturbance, like bulldozers trying to cjear damage. That can slow clearance efforts, usually for time to deliver follow-on strikes. Or, the other people can wait the timers out, then send in the EOD teams.

166 “little” bombs each, or almost 10,000 grenade-like messes?)

More like a 60mm mortar round. The submunitions in even a 3-generations ago Rockeye cluster bomb could kill a tank. And I know firsthand that the air-launched cruise missiles were something for tank crews to keep in mind.

Sure, wait until they find the Little Mermaid blown into tiny pieces, then you'll be a believer in air power!
