PING!!!!
Article and comments, esp, particularly #75
Excerpt:
Trump used the purported Syrian gas attack and the world wide PR campaign to force Trump to take action against Syria and sued the PR pressure group to used to mobilize world opinion for an attack against Syria against them.
In doing so - Trump sent his own message.
-The message was to Iran, Syria, Russia, North Korea, Afghanistan...and others....
-Now that Trump has Assad and Putin’s attention, Sec of State Tillersons negotiations to marginalize Iran and North Korea may proceed in a smoother and more expedited fashion.
-Questions about Trumps sympathy and potential for favorable treatment for Russia are now pretty much put to rest.
-The rest of the world is fully aware that the gas attack was not done by Assad, but they are even more aware that Trump is unpredictable and ruthless enough to use a fake story about Assad’s WMD attack as cover to inflict some pain to get the attention of incorrigible members of the axis of evil.

Well, when someone kills 80+ people with banned chemicals, mostly woman and children, if you have a heart, that would change my mind. So Trump decided, we don’t need to have ground troops, so let’s blast the hell out their infrastructure where the weapons came from. Maybe this will stop it. Don’t forget, Susan Rice a few months or so ago said all Syria’s chemical weapons had been voluntarily surrendered.
Sometimes, to fix the situation in which you’ve been lied to, you must slap some common sense into these people. And as I said before, he destroyed the weapons that participated in the use of the chemicals, not the troops.
I hope there’s a strategy here and we don’t end up with 50,000 troops in Syria for the next twenty years.
Now the official US policy as communicated by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is to force Assad from power.
Show me the last time forcing a ruler from power in the middle east did not turn out to be a complete disaster.
Reportedly, he gave Russia 30 minutes notice. Doesn’t sound like a lot of time to move materiel.
Thank you - it bears repeating
Agreed
I wonder how long until we hear the Native American activists whining about the name “Tomahawk”?
It won't be the Native Americans, it will be the snowflakes, socialists, anarchists, commies - the usual suspects.
They are clockwise around the table:
Unnamed man; Jared Kushner, adviser to the president; Steven Mnuchin, Treasury Secretary; Wilbur Ross, Commerce Secretary; Sean Spicer, Press Secretary; Rex Tillerson, Secretary of State; General H.R. McMaster, National Security Advisor; Reince Priebus, White House chief of staff. Seated on the right are from front: Gary Cohn, Director fo the National Economic Council; Dina Powell, Deputy National Security Advisor; Michael Anton, National Security Council spokesman; Stephen Miller, senior adviser; Steve Bannon, chief strategist.
.... burnt out shelters and hangars
60 tomahawks is a pretty big message.
Even if Assad stays in power, he will not use WMD’s.
I hope he didn’t Agita. LOL
According the Daily Mail this is where ‘they see’ the countries stand:
ANTI ASSAD

Turkey - Opposed to Assad but objects to Syrian rebels and wants control of Kurdish area
Canada - Canada gave more than $4.97million to the Syrian opposition in 2013
Saudi Arabia - The Middle East country is the main group to finance the rebels and has provided a large amount of weapons
Israel - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was the first to praise the US’s retaliatory attack, saying he ‘fully supports’ Donald Trump’s decision to launch the cruise missile attacks
Qatar - It was reported Qatar gave the Syrian rebels $2.98 billion at the start of the civil war in 2011
PRO ASSAD:
Russia - Gives military support, condemns the US airstrikes and suspends deal not to clash mid-air
Iran - Close strategic allies with Syria and has provided significant support including $8.69billion
North Korea - UN probe found that North Korea was supplying arms to Syria
Iraq - The Iraqi Government provided financial support and transported supplies
