“Extending a courtesy to pigs like Schumer is an exercise in stupidity.”

BINGO!!

What true conservative couldn’t see that there was no point in keeping the filibuster because if/when dems gain majority again they were going to change it back to simple majority again themselves.

Weren’t Reid’s two rules changes enough evidence the last 10 years or so? Filibustering Alberto Gonzales to prevent Bush from making first Hispanic SCOTUS pick (was DC Court of Appeals I think but next step from there would’ve been SCOTUS) then abolishing filibuster for Obama nominees.

“What would trigger a filibuster
In a significant development, Reid set forth some of the conditions that would trigger a Democratic attempt at a filibuster to block President Bush’s nominee to fill the vacancy created by the impending retirement of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.

EMPHASIS:
Reid said it would be “a real poke in the eye with a sharp stick if they give us (any of) the 10 (judicial nominees) we turned down” by filibusters in 2003 and 2004.”

if the Democrats retake the Senate they can reinstitute the 60 Vote Filibuster.
______________

Now THAT is funny. Sounds like an Ann Coulter line, maybe Mark Steyn.

The phony filibuster that gave rise to the rule requiring essentially 60 votes for anything in the Senate is gradually being dismantled by both parties.

This was only a rule since 2003 not centuries of tradition as has been falsely promoted by the MSM.

To clarify your remark. A majority in the house would have to impeach. The senate needs a supermajority of two-thirds to convict.

I know you meant to say that.

There are a lot of Senate seats that could flip, mostly in our favor, and it’s not clear which way they will go, not yet. We’ll know a lot more a year from now, but even then I expect a lot of uncertainty. It’s likely that if the democrats keep up their “resist” mantra, they will burn out most of their casual voters and motivate ours.

Launch a hard investigation into voter fraud and the destructionists might not ever win an election again.
