Knoxville, Tenn., could be the first city in the U.S. where Obamacare completely collapses, leaving tens of thousands of people without the option to buy a subsidized insurance policy.
Humana, the citys only remaining insurance provider on its Obamacare exchange, announced it is exiting the market in 2018. If that happens, Knoxville citizens will be in a rough spot. Unless another insurance provider fills Humanas place, some 40,000 people in the Knoxville area will likely be left without the option to purchase an Obamacare-subsidized insurance policy, CNN reports.
Knoxville is illustrative of one of the main problems with Obamacare: It doesnt promote market-based competition. Insurers pull out of marketplaces where it is not cost-efficient for them to provide services, and, as a result, consumers are left with fewer options at higher prices

Let Obamacare stay in place... it will die while everyone else gets better insurance.
Obamacare is still a revenue stream for the IRS - that needs to be severed, along with any notion that the program is a "tax".
Ann Coulter: How to Provide Universal Health Care Using This One Easy Trick
The first sentence of Congress Obamacare repeal should read:
There shall be a free market in health insurance."Right there, Ive solved the health insurance crisis for 90 percent of Americans.
Unfortunately, no one can imagine what a free market in health care looks like because we havent had one for nearly a century.http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/03/01/ann-coulter-provide-universal-health-care-using-one-easy-trick/
Good. Let it collapse. Maybe then we can be done with it.
Mitt Romney was promising to issue a universal waiver. That would essentially do the same thing. Trump might be waiting for the political geniuses in Congress to show themselves fools before doing that.
That’s sure one way to get the political support for moving Congress off the dime. Let the Frankenstein monster just croak.
It’s in the box next to the leftovers from all those shovel ready projects.
Let’s see the creative wording the media uses to BLAME this on Trump. Yes, they will.
> So where has the money gone, exactly?
Into the pockets of the big shareholders of large insurers and pharmas, mostly. Also into obscene executive bonuses, lobbyists, and donations to the politicians who voted for this sweet sweet setup for the industry.
I live and work in healthcare in this area.. This is an area of extremes with Maserati and 83 Toyota running around. Every hospital is cutting budgets. You can really see how hard we were hit on graphs with the full implementation of obamacare.
Well gee, we’ll just have to have the government step in and pay for them - crocodile tears.....
I must be missing something.
Don’t the subsidies make the person’s income irrelevant to the insurance companies? The insurance company gets the same amount for the same age person m whether they pay all of their premium or the taxpayers do.
