optimistic' about ObamaCare repeal Joseph Weber

Trump admin stops disclosing troop deployment information

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, a top conservative critic of House Republicans’ failed plan to replace ObamaCare, concluded his golf outing Sunday with President Trump by saying party members are “getting closer” on a compromise repeal plan and that he remains “very optimistic.”

The president’s invitation for Paul to play at Trump National Golf Club in northern Virginia is a sign that he is trying again to negotiate with congressional conservatives who failed to back the originial ObamaCare overhaul plan, after weeks of attacking them.

“We had a great day with the president,” Paul said after playing with Trump and White House Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney. “We did talk about some health care reform. I think the sides are getting closer and closer together. And I remain very optimistic that we will get an ObamaCare repeal.”

Paul, a licensed opthamologist and Tea Party favorite, has his own ObamaCare replacement plan, which he argues goes further than the Republican House leadership plan to fully repeal and replace the 2010 health care law, under which consumers are facing rising costs and fewer policy options.

White House official Stephanie Grisham said earlier Sunday that the threesome would discussing several issues at the club but that health care would be “a big topic.”

Conservatives need to support this compromise

WRONG. The hypocrites in the HOR and US Senate, every one of them, voted to repeal Obamacare when they knew Obama would veto it. They should put up or relinquish their seats in DC for committing election fraud if they think we should support Obamacare Lite!! NO MANDATE!! NO DICTATED COVERAGES!!

“...but left the pre-existing conditions and “children” to age 26 intact.

Conservatives need to support this compromise. “

Pre-Existing condition is THE deal killer. This FORCES the insurance companies to “cover” extremely sick and costly individuals, so the cost is passed on to the rest. THIS pre-existing MANDATE has to go for a free market to operate properly.

I believe he’s down Laro Marco, FL

No, he's stayed up in D.C. for the past couple of weekends.

Many of the Obamacare repeal bills then weren't actually full, stand-alone repeal bills. They weren't one-page repeal bills like from Mo Brooks. Did you protest in 2015 when the Obamacare repeal - which left some of Obamacare rules remaining - was passed?

If healthcare isn't addressed, that basically shuts down Trump's domestic agenda and his budget. It doesn't matter about his tax reforms, which will be swallowed up by exploding Obamacare and employer costs. That will stifle his jobs outlook, as well as companies committing to opening new plants in the U.S.

This compromise bill will be much better than Ryancare. I believe that Ryancare was simply a Door in the Face Technique used by Trump to get the discussions rolling and seeing where members of Congress stood.

He still works no matter where he is. Just like President George W. Bush did when he was at his ranch in Crawford Texas.

Ryan is the real problem here. We are hearing several stories of HIS inflexibility. I read his wife and her family are committed Rats, explains so much.

Yes, but thanks to Obamacare, the precedent has already been set. You get rid of the pre-existing mandate coverage the bill will do even worse than Ryancare. This will likely be temporary or phased out over a certain period in the new bill, or risk-pools will be established that's separate from general coverage.

Nice. The liberal lying media outlets trying to create a story where there is no story.

Trump will move his agenda.

>>These republican slugs better repeal this or all conservatives should never vote for any of them again.<<

CALL them / WRITE them emails.

It doesn't take but a moment to call and or write to let them know your opinion. Blow up their phone lines.

Not saying you, but folks in general love to blog and state opinions, but I'd bet maybe....maybe 20% of folks will take the time to call or write their senators/reps/white house.

"There is not going to be a complete repeal bill. It'll be more along the lines of the 2015 Obamcare repeal bill, which repealed six or seven of Obamacare mandates but left the pre-existing conditions and "children" to age 26 intact. Conservatives need to support this compromise. It will be much better than the Ryan bill and it will be able to pass both houses of Congress, and will alleviate the damage that Obamacare is doing now."

I know they need to do this in a step process so the senate can vote on a reconciliation bill and not have to worry about cloture. I'm just tired of all the republican complaining and then failing to get it done when they finally had a chance.

Regarding full repeal. That would be bring us back to where we were which gave the dems the reason to pass Obama care. The old system had faults. Let’s see what Trump comes up with.

“Yes, but thanks to Obamacare, the precedent has already been set. You get rid of the pre-existing mandate coverage the bill will do even worse than Ryancare.”

That is why is the called a REPEAL, to REPEAL the so-called precedent set by Obamacare. By the way, Obamacare did NOT set a precedent. It can be overturned easily, if they just stop polishing the turd.

It is very simple - Repeal. No need to draft anything to “replace”, just a clean replace making Obamacare null and void. Let the market take care of the rest.

Rand’s plan is no better than Ryans. Rand is for expanded medic-aid and guaranteed issue. He is top-heavy on HSAs which, any parent of 20/30yo’ds can attest, will not be funded by young people. Young people are still phoning home asking for money because they can’t make it from paycheck to paycheck. People trying to get off welfare can’t go HSA either, because welfare folk can’t have more than $2,500 in cash on hand.

In a perfect world, everyone would pay themselves first (10% splurge, 10% savings) and save judiciously. But people just don’t. HSAs are an option but not a solution.

>Not for Trump. Maybe for Obama who would have probably repaired to the men’s locker room with his golf buds and participated in some anal sex.

You just know he was the bitch. From what I read Putin never refers to Obama by name in the Kremlin, he just called him that homo in the white house.

There better be a lot of Republicans signing up as candidates for the GOP primary in 2018, because if a repeal of Traitorobamacare does not occur, no incumbent should get a single vote.
