DALLAS (AP) Vic Schaefer and his Mississippi State Bulldogs didnt get much time to celebrate what might be the greatest shocker in womens basketball history.
Not when theres one more game to win, not when theres a national championship on the line against SEC rival South Carolina.

This MSU team reminds me so much of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey team....underestimated all year, got hammered the year before by arguably the best team in college basketball, comes in with a gameplan and executes it perfectly....then has to play the second-best team in the world two days later.
I'm hoping for a Miracle on the Hardwood, like the Miracle On Ice in 1980.
That’s what it reminded me of as well, although the upset really wasn’t as big this time. (Last year’s UConn team was great. This year’s was good, but added in a lot of smoke and mirrors to go undefeated.
I hope MSU can finish it. Imagine how differently the USA-USSR game from 1980 would be viewed if the USA choked against Finland.
Hail State!
I lack about 9 hours graduating. May be more now. I loved my days at State. Hail State. Go Dawgs. The baseball team is not doing too badly either. Someone posted a picture on FB of the UCONN’s coach hugging the State player who made the winning points. Very nice.
Go Cocks!!
What network will be airing this game? I rarely watch lasies’ basketball, but I’ll try to watch this game.
I believe ESPN or ESPN II.
Thanks.
