As much as I oppose TrumpCare and as much as I would love to support the HFC, we gotta realize these guys are dead men walking.
“The future of our movement”? Yep. Dead in a year.
Of the 30 some odd HFC members, only 18 remain fully opposed to TrumpCare.
Face it. Conservatives lost the battle with regard to healthcare. I hate that. You hate that.
But it’s time to move on.
That’s pretty much where I am at. I was livid the way Ryancare was rolled out. But at the end of the day we have an America First GOP POTUS in his first hundred days trying to install his agenda while under nuclear attack from 5 different angles.
Had Trump been a lame duck POTUS in his last year I could see fighting ryancare to the last man. But at this point we simply have no other choice but to hang with POTUS and get as much conservative stuff as we can. The globalists and Democrats would like nothing better than for the Trump admin to be still born. That of course would leave the GOPe to pick up the pieces and govern as they wish. In that case we will assuredly get nothing.
Time for conservatives to live and fight another day, IMO.

Slowly revealing the Obama spying on all Americans, and then the Obamabots in the G'ment illegally revealing names of Americans who spoke with foreigners

No, Centered within the party is the desire to actually govern and legislate. The Freedom Caucus is not in that group. They are another my way or the highway. That’s why one of the founders left the caucus and why the House Freedom Caucus is why we’re probably going to lose the Senate and have a 40 weeks of a lame Duck President whose promises to the American people are being thwarted from within — with cooperation from without.
If the President's agenda didn't include the above, he wouldn't have gotten himself elected.
Or must the President and his supporters narrowly conform only to your conception of "Liberty, Freedom, the rule of Law and the Constitution"? Are you the only person qualified to be the arbiter of those noble principles?
Or is it just slightly possible that other patriots—who are (gasp!) equally as patriotic as yourself—might believe that those same noble things can be achieved according to a different process than what you deem is legitimate?
President Trump would due well to remember he is president because of conservative voters. The vast majority of which support the freedom caucus. Mr. President, stop attacking your base. Go after the people who didn’t want you around when you were running for president, you know, moderate to leftist pubbies and democrats. You recall that right, the people you ran against? Remember the promises you made to us. We are not forgetting them.
I’m not in disagreement with him trashing the media. I’m only in favor of him going NeverTrump on this, if that’s all it is. It isn’t. I don’t agree with going after the Freedom Caucus. Those folks stand up for us on many issues. I do want Obama spying to be revealed. I think the Left should be taken to task for revealing names Russians were talking with. The Russians were under observations, not who they were talking to. Revealing their names is illegal.
As for the NYT, I don’t think they’ve gotten one thing right yet.
