The House Freedom Caucus is not a ‘cancer’ in Congress, it’s the future of our movement

With all of the BS being thrown around about the House Freedom Caucus from swamp-backers

So, anyone who disagrees with the actions or tactics of the HFC is a "swamp-backer"?

That's just absurd, and an insult to hundreds of members of this forum who are every bit as patriotic as you are.

This is what I don't understand. Anyone who comes down on the other side of the question regarding this recent health care bill automatically has their patriotism called into question.

Such calumny is both inaccurate and downright wrong.

This was a disagreement over how best to advance the Presidents agenda., and it might prove to be the case that conservative purists will celebrate winning this battle, while at the same time setting into motion a sequence of events which could very cause President Trump to lose the overall war.

I've said before that I opposed the AHCA, but I'm fully cognizant that people of equal patriotic passion might disagree with that sentiment, and calling into question people's patriotism merely on that basis is both shortsighted and wrong.

I know many Freepers on both sides of this AHCA question, and there's certainly no monopoly on patriotism or conservative credentials on either side.

Gratuitous acrimony only serves our mutual Enemy...

The Tea Party represented some good ideas, but as a “movement” - it’s been dead for years. What lives on is the Trump Movement, which is bigger and more energetic than any of the myriad in-fighting TPs ever hoped to be.

The only movement that should matter is the Constitution.

The HFC lost its authority when it said “No” to a bad bill without a good bill in hand for the President.

This is Bush-era RoveGOPe posturing. Who are the good guys on HFC? And how many of them are left overs from Bachmann’s impotent “Tea Party Caucus”?

"Face it. Conservatives lost the battle with regard to healthcare. I hate that. You hate that. But it’s time to move on."

I am sure that Goldwater, Buckley, and Reagan are spinning in their graves, yet the steady drumbeat of socialism from voters and our political leaders is pushing us ever closer to single payor. I ask is it best for conservatives to have a hand in its design or to go down in flames and cede the battle to the likes of Schumer, Sanders, Clinton, and Warren?

Laughable comment...

They saw a bad bill and refused to sign on.

The bill Ryan talked about made it to Obama’s desk in January of 2016. So there was another bill out there, but Ryan didn’t pick it to push.

Maybe if people quit re-electing weasels there would be enough non-weasels to elect a non-weasel Speaker.
Until they do, you’re stuck with the Cheap Labor Express being in charge.

We showed you how it’s done when we Cantorized our weasel.
Do you have a weasel?

pent more than $3 million to smear Huelskamp and boost his primary opponent, Roger Marshall, who raised nearly $1.1 million on his own. House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and others in the House Republican leadership refused to offer public support for Huelskamp or place him back on the House Agriculture Committee,

Huelskamp was an embarrassing clown. Good riddance to him.

If the HFC is anything like this girly loser, then Conservatism is in more trouble than I thought.

One of my reservations about Trump was if he would support the constitution. I believe he will, but to attack constitutionalists. Gives you a concern. The only guide that I trust is the Constitution. It is possible that this is a negotiating ploy - I hope that is the case. But if he refuses to work with conservatives and uses democrats to get his votes, then that is exactly what Boehner did...

What are you talking about? The HFC is the most conservative group we have in Congress: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Caucus

Do you realize how STUPID & IGNORANT you sound with that post? Or has your membership in the new cult of personality simply destroyed whatever ability to think logically & independently you once may have had?

I can take factual criticism but I don’t tolerate personal attacks from strangers like you. Please slow down, take a deep breath, and explain your position clearly so I can understand what you are so upset about.

All I said was the HFC should have had a good replacement or total repeal plan IN HAND. How come they didn’t? How many years has it been in place and is it just another impotent GOPe placeholder like Bachmann’s Tea Party Caucus

VERY nicely put. The mindless members of the Cult of Personality amongst us don’t have a clue. The next thing we know they may be trying to blame Russian interference.
