I love that area!

However, on a trip out west with a couple of our friends a few years ago, she wanted to see Las Vegas. Wuz not very happy when we passed thru the one in NM! Tee hee...

Been to both areas many times and love them both. The 4 corners area has plague infested rodents and a rodent population that carries the lethal, hantavirus pulmonary syndrome. Beware, wherever you go. The Ozark streams are some of the most beautiful on the planet, and dogwood in the spring, and morel mushrooms.

They started out on TV as a How To show on a sports channel and the idea grew from there. All of the family has been very open and honest about themselves, the past, their struggles, and the show was used for their ministry. BTW Willie's wife is from the Howard family tied into the old Howards department store chain and a Christian publishing company of the same name. Ms Kay worked for them when times were leaner. Even Al had his struggles. I think all of Phils sons are licensed ministers within their conservative church "Church of Christ". Jase was involved in youth ministry.

Their show was part of getting their ministry to a point they were trying to get too so to reach more people. The assembly line episode with Mountain Man in a canoe after shooting was over for the day was followed by his actual Baptism at the church afterward off screen. BTW Mountain Man is the actual Hillbilly he was raised in Tennessee LOL.

Phil is brutally honest about his youth, his troubled early adult behavior, and his eventually being lead to The Lord. Even Si has had his battles including a son who has Asphaugers {SP} & his sons struggles as a teen to get a diagnoses, and also was later career Army with 8 M.E. deployments.

I liked the show and usually didn't miss an episode. I also like when I can get to high speed internet watching their off the show appearances o n YouTube. All in the Duck Call Room are also part of their ministry. I noticed on Facebook Phil has began coming out more vocal using electronic media after the final episode. Phil BTW was the one who said the show wouldn't work unless The Lord was behind it. I'll miss the show. I also think they'll be in high demand as speakers in churches and retreats for a long time to come.
