On CNBC’s Squawk Box on March 30, a former senior Obama administration official tried to take back her earlier admission that the former administration tried to “get as much information” as possible on Trump and his associates before the transition of power – but she only dug herself in deeper.
Evelyn Farkas used to be the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia/Ukraine/Eurasia under President Obama. Now, like former Press Secretary Josh Earnest, she’s made the move over to NBC News as a National Security Analyst. Claiming that her previous statements had been misunderstood, Farkas insisted to the Squawk Box panel that she was only explaining “why people might be motivated to do that.” Later she seemed to imply that the Trump administration would threaten intelligence sources when she said “people could get hurt, if people were giving us information.”

Interesting that CNBC gives her the forum to real in her story from March 2. She was REAL believable in that interview in my opinion. She could hardly pull enough levers after Trump’s election to make sure Trump was torpedoed.
You know, last week Trump said that some very interesting evidence regarding the wiretap was going to be released this week. I bet he was talking about what Evelyn Farkas was going to say.

So there was no hacking possible, everyone had to accept the result, then Trump and the Russians hacked it, there was evidence, but no surveillance, then it was incidental, but it was spread around and leaked, and on and on. ..

She didn’t say A THING about “motivation” or “political orientation”. There was nothing fluffy about her diatribe. This was a verbal briefing of Mika on WHAT SHE DID. And she was PROUD and DETERMINED and I apologize for the caps, but she made it entirely clear she was a crusader for these efforts and she meant business and nothing but business. Including her “duty” to disclose this stuff to the media.
Keep Darrel Issa 500 miles away from questioning her, please. Don’t let him get any “maybe it was this and maybe it was that” kind of questions in.

The weak link stumbled and bumbled into Trump. She did this on the 2nd and two days later Trump starts the tweet storm. That we know he watches the tubes, I’ll bet either he saw this or one of his staff did.
