Of course, but it’s not the same as the EU. We at least used to have a sense of cultural or national unity. The EU is artificial: countries of vastly different cultures, histories, languages, all under one roof. It seems that such an arrangement, especially if it dominated by one country, is doomed to fail, and should fail. There is not the same justification for breaking up the United States but, I agree, it could happen .
Reminds me of the Zimmerman Telegram from WW1. I expect it to be just a relevant.
But anyway, Juncker is from tiny Luxembourg. High profile bureaucrats from tiny countries love multilateral institutions because it is their only chance at personal importance. So they love the UN, the world bank, the IMF, the EU. They can move up the ladder in these places and be important in a way that would otherwise be impossible for someone from a tiny country.
In a few more months EU will be a Muzzlimb state under Sharia, with a lot of headless former NAZI’s littering the landscape. Call for our help then, you bastid.

People always treated us as nice as could be. Nice golf course, too.
He probably plucked that name out of thin air. Texas and Ohio? That makes no sense. I doubt he could find Ohio on a map and only knows Texas from a John Wayne movie he was once forced to sit through by his father. (Although I’ve heard he’s from good Nazi stock.)
Ohio and Wisconsin have the highest percentage of Germans and during WW1 Germany actually thought about trying to get them to secede. I figure something from that must be rattling around in his head.
Germany also promised Texas to Mexico.
