But Trump went a long way with that tweet in ‘owning’ that stink bomb by lashing out at the uber-majority of the conservative/patriotic base.

I don’t see his tweet as an “attack” on anyone, he just wants the Freedom Caucus and the Republicans united to fight the Democrats. Everyone is getting all twisted up on this, when it is more of a nothingburger.
The only possible issue Trump may have is that he might have believed he had a deal with the Freedom Caucus and they moved the goal posts. I don’t know if that is accurate, some have speculated it.
