The Samsung Galaxy S8 is the nicest phone Ive ever held. Its a beautiful combination of glass, metal, and an absolutely massive screen in a body thats much smaller than you might expect.
And that might not be enough to make it stand out anymore.
There are two versions of the S8: the standard Galaxy S8 with a 5.8-inch screen and the larger S8 Plus with a 6.2-inch screen. Both are available for preorder on March 30th and will be shipping in the US on April 21st. Pricing, as always with Samsung, is up to the carriers but you can expect them to command a premium price. The early word is that it will start at $720.
Heres everything we learned about these two phones after using them for an hour or two last week.

Does it come with sticks so we can make s’mores?

Since it seems the whole phone is made of glass, what on Earth will they make to protect it when it gets dropped ?
The design of it seems to preclude having one of those rubber protectors.
My biggest gripe with the S7 is the darn thing is as slippery as a greased eel. You have to use it with a case. And if you don’t intend to use a case, you don’t want to get a black one, as they show greasy fingerprints like you wouldn’t believe.
Let him go. It’s time for the daily Apple Worship Service and online Confessional.
There will always be a nicer phone.
For my 49 years here there was always something nicer come tomorrow.
I really don’t get to excited about this stuff anymore...
HEY, where are the FUnnies?
Ha! I still like my Samsung Galaxy Express Prime, a baby steps version.... I can’t imagine wanting more in a phone and I will never pay $700+ for a phone when I can have this one (cost $150 a couple of years ago).
I see now my phone lists for only around $80! I can’t see paying any more than that when this is a great phone.
Yea it is ridiculous.
latest and greatest obsession!
Twice the bang as the S7?
“”””You can upgrade to the Galaxy S8 with a 5.8-inch screen or the larger S8 Plus with a 6.2-inch screen
Plus get free fire extinguisher””””
Don’t be silly. This time Samsung is well prepared. Of course they’ll give you a fire extinguisher.

Gosh, I feel so inadequate with my LG Stylo 2 and its less than massive 5.7" screen.
Which Samsung Galaxy does NOT have the Google operating system?? I’ll buy that one.
Does the phone come complete with infectious code already installed? /s
These large phones seem to be the trend all manufacturers are jumping on. I’d like to upgrade my phone to a more recent android version and more memory but don’t want something I can’t fit completely in my pocket.
So are they making a proper sized version that doesn’t make the phone into a crappy shadow?
I’ve got the Sony Z5compact, and it’s awesome. It’s the only kinda small phone (4.6” screen I think, and that’s even bigger than I really wanted) that didn’t sacrifice the processor or RAM or any other specs simply to make it smaller. Screen resolution is the only thing, but even 720p is plenty on such a tiny screen.
Yeah, well after two years of two Galaxy 4 phones frequently randomly turning off (even in the middle of a call) or randomly rebooting I’m done with that crap.
I bought a brand new unlocked Moto G4 Play for $130 and it works just fine. I don’t care what bells and whistles a phone has; if it can’t reliably perform the basic function of making a phone call when you want to make that call, it is worthless junk.
I’m sure it is packed to the hilt with bloatware.
I am sure the sales will be explosive and just flying of the shelves like they were on fire. LOL
