Punk icon John Lydon, better known by his stage name Johnny Rotten, defended U.S. President Donald Trump against the left-wing media during a Monday interview in London.
The former Sex Pistols frontman, who became a U.S. citizen in 2013, said on ITVs Good Morning Britain that Mr. Trump is a complicated fellow but doesnt deserve being labeled a racist by his liberal opponents.
What I dislike is the left-wing media in America are trying to smear the bloke as a racist, and thats completely not true, the 61-year-old said. Theres many, many problems with him as a human being, but hes not that, and there just might be a chance something good will come out of that situation, because he terrifies politicians.
Mr. Lydon said Mr. Trump is like a political Sex Pistol whose purpose is to rattle the status quo. After co-host Piers Morgan described Mr. Trump as the archetypal anti-establishment character, Mr. Lydon added: Dare I say, a possible friend. The former lead singer also declared his support for Brexit, saying he stands with Britains working class who voted to exit the European Union in June.
Where do I stand on Brexit? Well, here it goes: The working class have spoke, and Im one of them, and Im with them, Mr. Lydon said, raising his fist. And there it is.

“God Bless the Queen...”
Was that them :)
yep...never liked them...but they’re all right off stage!
Never knew he felt that way.
There’s a lot of people out there that you wouldn’t think are for Trump. Just a couple of anecdotal stories that I think prove the polls are bogus and faked. My gay brother in Arizona is for Trump and is fed up with illegal aliens. A very liberal woman friend is glad that Trump is deporting these criminal aliens or at least trying to. So if you a lot of conservative people know of at least one liberal person who has changed their mind, it’s a good start.
It’s actually not nearly as obnoxious as I always thought it was.
He’s right. Don’t tell us what we need or want.
He sounds like a libertarian on meth :)
“He terrifies politicians” That’s what I like most about Trump as well.
