LOS ANGELES (AP) -- California prosecutors on Tuesday charged two anti-abortion activists who made undercover videos of themselves trying to buy fetal tissue from Planned Parenthood with 15 felonies, saying they invaded the privacy of medical providers by filming without consent.

The charges against David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress come eight months after similar charges were dropped in Texas.

State Attorney General Xavier Becerra, a longtime Congressional Democrat who took over the investigation in January, said in a statement that the state "will not tolerate the criminal recording of conversations."

The devil is in the quagmire of the legal system that allows a judge to do whatever his liberal mind can come up with. Some of those minds are fried from alcoholism or drug addiction.

True and another reason the dems are so butt hurt about not getting a lib judge installed on the supreme court but their own precedent bit them with the Joe Biden Rule dictating no nominations during a Presidential election year in 1992 (I think).

There’s no guarantee at all that Gorsuch will lean right. As far as I can tell; he’s a centrist which I’m okay with. I wish they all went strictly by the constitution and not “feelings” or what they think the founders meant in the current year as living document. Someone checked for a pulse and guess what; no life there. ;) If all SC judges were centrist we could expect fair and impartial rulings but everyone knows Kagan and Sotomayor are not centrist but instead lean hard left.

This is a Civil Right violation.

Send in the Feds.

If necessary, send in the National Guard.

What they did was perfectly legal under CA law. The Justice system is completely politicized now and needs to be dismantled or destroyed.

Upon further review, this might be a case where it would have been best to let sleeping dogs lie. While it is a State case, Sessions might be interested in the findings of their investigation. If the films and interviews turn out to be acceptable in Federal Court, the DOJ might consider a RICO action against PP using the cases in Texas and California. Imagine the libs heads sploding when they try to prosecute on State grounds and the Feds subpoena all their evidence to be used in a Federal case, and they sequester the “suspects” in the State case and they are not available for prosecution by the State.

Do they really think that putting the mercenary nature of PP on the front page for months will help their cause. Selling babies for parts does not come across as benign a business model to most Americans, not even in California.

Lawfare is the term you are looking for. This is Lawfare using the resources of government on those shining light on PP’s illegal actions.

In some states, it is legal to record a conversation as long as one party knows it is being recorded. In others, all parties must be aware. I don’t know which California is.

General Xavier Becerra....

Attorney General please. This guy is not a General, a title co-opted by the left to make one of their dim witted apointees sound important.

They intend to make examples of them to put fear into the opposition like ISIS. It is the persecution of the church in America beginning. Prayers.
