At least, that was my first impression upon seeing about 40 or so assorted anarchists, Brown Berets, and members of a group calling itself the Phoenix John Brown Gun Club across the street from the state Capitol, openly armed to the proverbial teeth.

Someone did a live feed of the group. I watched it. Of note, nobody said anything except a couple leaders who were ordering the reporter to stop filming - there was no indication WHY they were marching.
A quibble: I would say that this it means it's more likely, not less, that they will hit somebody that they are not aiming at.

Awhile back there was a protest against a radical mosque in Phoenix that turned out 250 armed protesters. And roughly that number of unarmed in favor of the mosque.

“An armed society is a polite society” is very true in Arizona. You don’t engage in gun play or somebody else is likely to shoot you. And it should be mentioned that if you ever draw down on an Arizona cop, you are a dead man.

The Black Panthers did this cr@p back in 1969 on the UC-Berkeley campus - toting rifles and shotguns, with the cops watching them like hawks. Nothing new under the sun.
The guns were empty; the Panthers weren’t THAT stupid.
