The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights was informed by several reliable sources that the Euphrates Dam which is located on the Euphrates River north of al-Tabaqa city in the western countryside of al-Raqqah has stopped working, the reasons are still unknown until now, where the sources of the observatory suggested that the Dam has stopped because of a power outage, which is being generated from the dam automatically, also the intersecting sources confirmed to the Syrian observatory for Human Rights that the main body of the Dam and the main turbines are still under the control the “Islamic State” organization and that the Syria Democratic Forces were not able to control them until right now.

The link to this was posted by someone I have seen on Twitter for a long time. Has been reliable before. It appears to be correct, although I have never heard of the actual source. The picture of the dam is correct and is shut down as described. The strategic Euphrates Dam stops working and the “Islamic State” organization still controls its main buildings and turbines

The post shows to have been 8 hours ago.

Am praying they take the control building and end this. There is a spillway but depending on the flow, The Euphrates River is large, it could be a disaster.

I don’t know if they have CS, but that might be a good tool to use against these ISIS in a situation like this. It’s unlikely that ISIS has gas masks, even though they’ve used chemical weapons in Syria and Iraq.

Poke hole in Ventilation from tank like Wac(k)o. But without flammable propellant.

Smoke them out! Gas the place, to save the equipment.

Might need Russian technicians to get the equipment back running - the Russians built it.

I’m sure the operating crew is still there unless ISIS killed them all.

So CS would be a solution.

Like gassing snakes out of den with gasoline fumes. But around a power plant, flammable fumes would not work.

If I had them or not, I would announce that on 04/02/2017 @ 12:00 local time, there would be five neutron bombs set off withing 50 yards of the damn.

All animal life, including humans within 500 yards would cease to be living.

Then I’d sit back and watch the roaches scatter.

If Syria is the only force in the area, that would hurt credibility.

Syria is not a signatory to treaties banning the use of poison gas in war - it might be an option.

Would be a human catastrophe. Flood cities for 100 miles and flood Raqqa, giving escape avenue for some of ISIS. No explosives. Gas? Yes.

Some of the folks inside might well be the original crew to operate the dam, with particular technical skills needed, no matter who is running the government.

Maybe burn tires at the air intakes?

Yes, dam.

Although right now, both words together might be appropriate.

You're thinking as if DoughtyOne was speaking of a hydrogen bomb, not a neutron bomb.

A neutron bomb is a specialized type of nuclear weapon that would produce minimal blast and heat but would release large amounts of lethal radiation. The neutron bomb as described by DoughtyOne would not affect the dam, thus would not cause a "human catastrophe" (except for the roaches who stayed behind).

The Afghans used to pump diesel into the basements of concrete buildings, and light it, to clear out entrenched defenders. Parts of the dam without electronics might be suitable for that approach. You can just tip over a barrel or two at the top of a flight of stairs, for example. Surprise!

Personally, I'd announce 12:00, then set the neutron bombs off at 11:30 as the roaches got outta Dodge.

oh yes, use whatever you have on isis. Chemical, radiation, biological, wood chippers, iron bars with spikes, makes no difference. I’ll sign off on whatever

A neutron bomb is a “low yield” nuke weapon. With high radiation levels.

It is not a “no yield”.

There are EMP weapons that are not nukes. They will fry electronics. Not kill humans or destroy property. That would not be appropriate here.
