The Mersey Beats - ferry across the Mersey
Gerry and the Pacemakers.

‘Gerry and the Pacemakers.’
I find it a funny name for a band, now that I’m older, LOL!
An anecdote, prior to the British Invasion, US artists who were
popular in the UK toured over there one was the late Bobby Vee.
The Beatles never opened for Vee as they did for Tommy Roe and other early 60s American rock stars, but he recalled an impressive list of British Invasion hitmakers who did.
The Zombies, the Searchers, Dusty Springfield, Gerry and the Pacemakers
I think I was in Manchester and somebody from a local newspaper set up an interview with Mersey Beat. I thought it was a religious group Mercy Beat I didnt know! Vee remembered. But I quickly found out when I was talking to (the reporter) because he was talking about the Undertakers, and all kinds of these Liverpool and Manchester bands, and one of them called the Merseybeats!
