A few points:
* I’m not fan of his, but Ryan is not Trump’s chief strategist and this was a significant strategic mistake. I personally would fire Bannon or Priebus because candidly is this flat out embarrassing as it weakens both the scope and ability to pass forthcoming legislative efforts.
* I agree, put it all together as one bill, then fight for it. The AHCA three-phase concept violates the “keep it simple” rule of success in marketing. Not having it pass in that form is preferable to what has occurred.
See Post #6. One thing that has stuck in the back of my mind over the last few weeks is that the Ryan bill was very much NOT the kind of approach Trump would ever take on anything. Everything about him has been a grand, over-the-top spectacle. The Ryan bill was the equivalent of a crappy tenement in the South Bronx for a guy who builds 60-story luxury towers in Manhattan. This leads me to consider one intriguing possibility: IT WAS NEVER INTENDED TO PASS AT ALL.
