The next step being telegraphed by our rulers is President Trump working with the ‘Rats and the GOPe to “fix” Obamcare and keep it in place.
We’ll know for sure as the Mid-Terms draw nearer.
I’m always right.
We will get single payer in the next 5 to 10 years.
Republicans are lying when they say what they want to bring free market health care.
This is the gang that can’t shoot straight. It could only decide move the chairs around the deck of the Titanic.
The insurance industry? It wants to exit an increasingly unprofitable business.
And it doesn’t really provide health insurance to most of the population.
If you suckers like paying premiums and deductibles, you’re welcome to it.
But you’ll never get back what you kept before.
I think you’re right. The country is too far gone. Hell most of the GOP “moderates” who didn’t want to vote for Ryancare complained that Ryancare was “too conservative.”
The only way this country and its thoroughly corrupt government is turned around is economic collapse and/or bloodshed.
This has to be heartbreaking to Paul Ryan.
For the very first time, Ryan and the GOPestablishment will have to listen to CONSERVATIVES. This has to be so difficult for the GOPe.
Thank you very much... I think. ./) B Y R D. Yikes. Sorry about that.
Have you been following the small bills sneaking through. One was making healthcare like any other business — not allowing the companies to fix prices or monopolize the market
The second Rand Paul mentioned yesterday. It had passed one chamber and opened coops to people wanting to join together and buy at a lower rate.
I think Paul is on to something. Pass little bills without media attention until we get a health system we can work with.
Think you are right, HM.
Also remember that the Freedom Caucus can only vote if 80% of the members agree, so that kind of locks them all into a bloc, which is the point, but it also makes flexibility on a vote hopeless.
No, I didn’t realize that. Incredibly complex. Thanks.
This is why no outsider but Trump could possibly hope to thread countless needles in order to move a single syllable of signature legislation. Even he may not succeed, with his agenda reduced to issuing Exec Orders.
There. I fixed it for you.
Take Chris Stewart of UT, a very conservative congressman, but NOT a member of the HFC because he wants the flexibility to vote for things the HFC might not.
Yes Gritty. Thanks. I realized as soon as I posted this that I forgot about WE/ US.. the American people!
I agree that this was not the approach that Trump would have taken on such an critical issue. I think he also would have appealed to us and explained the benefits of the bill. Do you think this was his way of taking Ryan down? Giving him enough rope to hang himself?
Perhaps that’s the case but what is the path from here? Wait for explosion and then suddenly Congress will have the will to repeal it? The Dems are locked in which is an asset politically. There are too many soft est GOP members who will just bail it out or step deeper into single payer.
Unfortunately the discussion at the WH is likely when is best time to work w Dems to “improve” Obamacare so does not explode. I’m afraid this whole thing is going to move to the left when it does resurface.
When the 2018 insurance renewal notices start coming out in October, members of Congress in BOTH parties will be climbing all over themselves to put together a bill that has immediate impacts, not the lame three-step nonsense we saw with the Ryan bill.
I don’t think Trump deliberately undermined Ryan here. I think he just made up his mind that he would be as supportive as possible even if he knew it was futile.
