The most common practice for those illegals who use a W-2/SSAN to get work is that they claim so many exemptions on their W-4 there are essentially no state or federal taxes on the paycheck at all. So the only thing that hits them is the 6.2% FICA and the 1.45% Medicaid. But they get that back in spades with the birth of just one little anchor baby.
The FICA they pay? No, the owner of the SSN doesn’t get credit for their earnings because SSA keeps track of ever bit of it to keep from having to pay out a higher payment to the real owner.
They KNOW each and every instance of fraudulent use and they keep them all accounted for and separate. The simplest thing to do in a data base is to field-search. Has been for a very long time. That’s what they’re for.
They do this because it is free income to SS now and whatever has to be paid out later if illegals are amnestied falls on the doorstep of some other schmuck. They’ll be long gone by then.
They come hear save a few thousand dollars US and go home(or send the money home). That $2-3000 exchanged back into their home country pathetic currency means they are now in the middle class of their home country.
